Off the top of my head, one was that he's not wearing shoes on the Abbey Road cover (where they are walking across the street). There's a lot of things on the Sgt. Pepper's album. There's a whole list of them out there somewhere (I remember spending time in grade 7 or so going through them all) and I'm sure it's on the internet somewhere now. Some of the some messages apparently could be heard when you played them backwards, but one that is that easily found is at the end of "Strawberry Fields Forever" you can hear John say in the background "I buried Paul" - used to compeltly freak me out and I couldn't listen to it. Anyways, the Murray is Dead thread is a spoof on that. If anyone finds an internet site with the list on it, I'd love to hear about it! Stores that you'd consider "your record store." Stores that are more likely to be bought out by Wal-Mart than to buy out Dick's Records (and therefore, stores that could use our financial support, as meager as it seems). Stores where everybody knows your name, you know the type. I'll start. SKR Rock & Pop 734/827-2340 523 E. Liberty Ann Arbor, MI The coolest record store in my adopted hometown. Formerly the location of "Schoolkids Records", an equally cool store, this is one of the few record stores I've heard of that treats its employees as people, including providing a great benefits package for its non-management employees. They've been carrying Fruvous albums, including imports of Wood & The 'B' Album, ever since I've been around. And their prices are better than most of the other struggling indie stores I've seen. And a non-local one, Rochesterians feel free to amend/append/contradict me :-) Record Archive 716/244-1210 1880 East Avenue Rochester, NY Quite possibly the coolest record store in the world. In addition to a fairly wide selection of music (from what I saw), they are also a vintage clothing & furniture shop. If there's anywhere else out there to pick up SNMNMNM's latest, that shirt you have incriminating pictures of your dad wearing, and a bed that could've come straight out of Austin Powers, please tell me. And, oh yeah, they've been supporting Fruvous for quite a while and the staff (especially Alayna) is rather outspoken in that support. If I ever need to get an album in Rochester again, I'll be going to Record Archive. So, anyone else care to add? Either email me or post; if the thread catches on, I'll compile a list by state or something and post it once it dies down. -Joe ------------------------------ Date: 03 Sep 1999 18:12:30 GMT From: srm9988n@aol.comicrelief (Lori at fruhead dot com) Subject: Re: more fruvous dreams...
