I feel like I should apologize to the band for the upcoming-show blurb they got from our paper last time they came to Albany, N.Y. In the past our Noteworthy page was written by J. Eric Smith, who's a big Früvous fan (he reviewed that night's show, and the band have quoted his past reviews in promotional material). But that night Noteworthy had been written by a staffer who, suffice it to say, Doesn't Get It. He asked me for details about Früvous' sound and material, and I gave them to him, and then he proceeded to write something totally different based on his own preconceptions. To him, Früvous, BNL and all their musical cousins are "goof-rock," not to be contemplated further. :-[ I can only hope that Eric's postconcert review made up for the preconcert mischaracterization. > So Wal-Mart *is* stocking Thornhill? > "Yes," Ghomeshi sighs.
