I've heard that Jian is the most diligent about reading the newsgroup, though I'm sure he doesn't check it nearly as often as we do. However, I have seen a few examples that he's in touch with a.m.m-f: 1) Occasionally in interviews, he'll bring up something that was discussed in the newsgroup, particularly if it's some sort of bizarre rumour or theory about the band; 2) Last year, Jian actually posted to the newsgroup, apologizing for the poor treatment of fans by the employees of a certain club (the Trocadero in Philly); 3) Well, this one's a bit less certain, but in an interview less than a month ago, he made a tongue in cheek comment about his "15-year-old girlfriend", which mirrored an earlier troll saying Jian was dating someone much younger than himself. So I'm sure they (well, at least Jian) check every once in a while, but luckily for them they don't have the time to get as obsessed with it as we do. Hope that helps. I really really wish I could draw so I could do a still frame of the whole song. Boy, that would be a slick (expensive video). Have the band playing infront of the picture and have a camera go into the picture in 3D, moving around and around the still frame, ocasionally cutting back to the band in front of the picture. A man standing in the middle foreground opening his coat. In my head, it's a formal coat not a weather coat. I guess they celebrate Independence Day formally in my head. Look on his face is a half- sorrow half-wonderment look with his eyes pointed downward. In the backgroup there's the a wicked storm striking up. Rain is coming down noticably (which is a lot for a still frame *grin*) and the trees are all bent out of shape. 2 lovers are scattering for cover, woman leading man hand in hand. The hot dog stand is unmanned and sitting there pretty much unaffected by the rain and wind for some reason or another. Several balloons float in the air like they had someone holding them while in the sky, children fly away out of the storm. The rest of background is subtle closed stores and hints that it is Independence Day. Subtitle of the frame is either "Independence Day" or "Now I know what freedom is".
