The way you saw it would be like saying it isn't possible to be overly careful, along the same lines of "you can never have too many friends" or "you can never eat too many truffles." A clearer way of saying that line that fits in with the other lyrics would be "you shouldn't be too careful." But that wouldn't flow nearly as well ;) Christine ------------------------------ Date: 16 Aug 1999 15:37:08 GMT From: bbwminors@aol.com (BBWMinors) Subject: Re: Weighing In on Thornhill Life101 wrote ... <<"you can't be too careful; don't agonize over it...go for it">> and added ... <> Actually, one of the ironies of the lyrics that I realized maybe the second time I listened to it is that "You can't be too careful" can mean one of two things -- either you should be as careful as you can because there's no such thing as TOO careful, which is what Life read it to mean OR, and I think it's what meant in this case, you SHOULDN"T be too careful -- Using another Beatles song as an example, "You can't do that" doesn't mean that the girl is not physically able to "do that" but that she shouldn't "do that." Anyhoo, if they DO have it, the online request form is at http://www.q94fm.com/musicform.html I'm going to request it now regardless of whether or not it's released yet, and if you do the same (as well as anyone else who reads this) then at least they'll know there's a demand for it so they should get their hand on it.
