There really is no bad seat in the house, but of course the Fruheads will all be sitting up front if they buy their tickets as soon as they go on sale, as usual. :-) I've seen many concerts there, including Boz Scaggs most recently, Joan Armatrading, Christine Lavin. XPNer's will also be interested in knowing that Richard Thompson will be there on Friday, 11/5, (not on sale yet either). Cheers! gingee Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Share what you know. Kudos to Deb for finally forcing me out of that particular closet. So what can this deluge of new faces, and an appearance on Conan possibly be foretelling of? Not to start the whole will they or won't they make it big thread again... As long as the boys are happy, truly truly happy then it must be our loyal fruhead duty to be happy for them. Jian's pants are actually one small cog in a sordid plot by Moxy Früvous, Inc. to take over the world and paper it with Starbucks and Borders on each and every streetcorner. Hence their mesmerizing garish patterns and inimitable fit, which, combined with the extraordinary inorganic elements of Murray's shirts, Dave's shining dome, and Mike's trancelike conga beat, render the masses stupefied and malleable to any whim of the Four. So far the crowd-control measures the Frülads have implemented have been of marginal impact: they persuade members of their hypnotized audiences to sing, to dance, to shake wooden eggs, to imagine themselves as wolves and sheep, to follow them from town to town fueled by way too much caffeine and way too little sleep, and more recently, in the final, most adventurous stages of Früvous-orchestrated beta testing, to post moronic misspelled indelicate homophobic unpunctuated just plain none-o-anyone's-bizness trollings on amm-f.... All this points to the chilling fact that soon, very soon, next Wednesday in fact, the final version of the scheme shall be launched, and the World, no not the band but all of its airwaves and cable systems and theaters and restaurants and fairgrounds and water supplies, shall be dominated by the Four. We're SUPPOSED to take the initiative (i.e.. make it known when we find someone attractive) but we are NOT supposed to "hit on" people (i.e.. make it known that we find them attractive). And if we are really good and try very hard to send out no sexual signals whatsoever--even though we ARE attracted--what is the reward?) We get ignored in favor of some more "assholish" guy who is not being so "polite". Sorry to any of you who may be offended, but I've discovered in my 35 years that although you want to be nice, you shouldn't ever be TOO pure! So, for those of you who weren't sure... You think that just because you fancy yourself "in love" with him that he should automatically start throwing himself at you? Let me tell you something... I can't speak for him, or any of the other band members for that matter... but guys have this uncanny ability to sense if someone has an overly rational attachment to them, and quite frankly it weirds them out. So, he probably saw you for the delusional stalker-in-waiting you are and set up his defenses. Jian works a crowd, he's an insatiable flirt, and most of us... while we do find it flattering... also keep at least one foot on the ground and realize that if there were really something there, he'd do a hell of a lot more than grin and wink at us.
