An instore is a promotional appearrance usually in a bookstore (that usually sells music like Borders) or record store (that rarely sells records anymore). The Fruvous ones are usually around an hour and stresses what is being promoted (e.g. Thornhill). Also, it's usually a basic Fruvous set. Don't expect Nuits de Reve at an instore *grin*. Sometimes they are even acoustic only if the band's gear needs to be setup for a show that night. It's a great opportunity for a band to get some new listeners because the place usually has other customers in there that the band gets to play to. - Chad ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 06 Aug 1999 16:51:20 GMT From: Jacey7@aol.com Subject: Re: (OT) whoa! childhood memories... My faith in humanity is a little restored now. The stand up comedian in me couldn't figure out how the heck bathrooms get overflowing with human waste. I mean, for a porta-john to get "overflowing with human waste", people need to keep using it. To get to "overflowing with human waste", you have to move through a lot of other stages like "pretty durned full", "too full to use if you have any common sense", "let's go find another one, this one, um... no". Yes, I do realize that everyone probably has a different definition of each of those states, but come on. At some point, everyone gets to "let's go find another one, this one, um... no" and I thought this point was well before "overflowing with human waste". But no, to get "overflowing with human waste" not just one person's "let's go find another one, this one, um.. no" point is was distorted, but enough people are waste-tolerant enough to get all the way to "overflowing with human waste". I mean think about, several people have to keep using the thing while most of the others would think it is "almost overflowing with human waste". Just wanted to save some of you some phone dialing - tickets for the 11/19 show at the Keswick Theatre on 11/19 are NOT on sale yet. Based on some insider info, it sounds like more info will be forthcoming next week. This serves to strengthen my prediction that "Thornhill" is destined to be WXPN's Album of the Week on 8/9. So make sure you're listening to Michaela at 8:45 a.m. on Monday for the Album of the Week and *hopefully* details on all things Moxy in the Philly area! For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Keswick, it is a great place to see a show! Seats ~1,300 on a one-level sloped floor with fixed seating; there is no space to dance in front of the stage (sorry to those who prefer that), but that ensures everyone has a good unobstructed view. _Very_ good sound. It was my childhood movie theatre in the early 70's, and I've been lobbying for Fruvous to play there for a few years now, so I'm very happy! And, no, I do not work for WXPN - I'm just a listener/member - or the Keswick, either. But I have friends... :-) Cheers! gingee Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Share what you know. I have never heard a single Ween song, but I picked up their double-live album for Mike Wood over July 4th weekend.
