Claire, who many of you met at Ft. Erie has returned to Toronto and listened to all 5 albums non-stop since last Saturday. The only problem is that she is wild over Bittersweet and can't wait to hear it live at either Celebrate Toronto tomorrow or at Harbourfront in August before she returns to France....I don't have the heart to tell her that hearing Bittersweet is rarer than a blue steak. Sad but true. I heard it once, years ago here in DC, and it was beautiful. You never know, though, sometimes they resurrect a song for the sheer fun of it. You can always hope! chris ------------------------------ Date: 11 Jul 1999 02:12:13 GMT From: traugottcm@aol.com (TraugottCM) Subject: Re: Thornhill Review >Aw come on! There is a lot to say about packing a cohesive punch >for an album and concept albums do that. For example, Spike, the >best Elvis Costello Album ever no matter what any other misguided >fool will tell you, is a great concept album. It now, Chad, some of us teeter between Spike, My Aim Is True, and King of America as greatest Elvis album, depending on the weather and level of caffeine in our systems. After all, Alison is on MAIT, and Indoor Fireworks on KoA. And can I just blather on a bit about how awesome Elvis is? Loren and I saw him three weeks ago at Wolf Trap, 3 hour show, the encores as long as the show itself, and the last song off mic. *AND* he played Indoor Fireworks. And Alison. And I Want You. And Every Day I Write the Book. And God's Comic. I was a quivering puddle of gratitude. Of course, I embarrassed the hell out of Loren..... :-) chris ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 11 Jul 1999 03:42:52 GMT From: Nancy Wood Subject: (no subject) Tim wrote: >>I'll tell Dr. D. that Angie swoons for him...still... I was a little concerned for the safety of my shoulder, which she kept grabbing in excitement, yes, but embarassed? At least she didn't spend five minutes on a cell phone like the woman a few blankets away... As for the show, it was fabulous. I was glowing for days. And then the guys went and did Poor Napoleon at the Fleadh, the one Elvis song that he did not do that I really wanted to hear :) I do have to agree with Chris about teetering between favorite Elvis albums. There are just too many to choose from :) Okay, I'll stop babbling now... /l ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V3 #587 ********************************************
