The reason? 'Cause there had been a big out cry from the under 21 croud to have them play a place they could get in to. So Fruvous played "Dry Night" at the Quest, insted of playing Fine Line which is allways 21+. Now, I like Fine Line better, but if the lads playing there means that under 21 frufans don't get to see them when they come to Minneapolis then, I'd rather see them someplace else and be glad that more of their fans can be there. Matt, That is not quite correct. The 10th ammendment says that if something is not delineated by the Constitution, then a state can regulate it. For example, since driving is not delineated by the Constitution, individual states can create driving laws. The tricky working is that the Constitution *delegates* specific powers, but all other rights are *reserved* . (See text below, or check out http://www.house.gov/Constitution/Amend.html ) Minimum drinking ages for alcohol are not delineated by the Constitution, therefore, each individual state sets it's own drinking age. Since it is a state issue, the 14th Ammendment protections do not apply. If your state has an equal rights protection in the state constitution, and if that state constitution defines personhood at at least 18 years of age, then perhaps you can bring it up to your state's supreme court. However, I suspect that drinking age laws are worded specifically to be constitutional. - ------------------- Article [X.] The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. - --Rodney, (Oops! Sure, it is unlikely that teenagers who want to see some concerts before they graduate college will change a minimum drinking age, but that shouldn't stop anyone from arguing about it. As (U.S.) citizens, not only does everyone have a right to hold and express an informed opinion, it is their civic duty to do so. The very fact that Matt is a citizen MAKES him exactly as qualified to interpret the Constitution as "those who are currently in the position." Not only is he qualified, but he, and all other citizens, *should* question the laws that are passed, and they *should* question the interpretation of those laws. The more citizens who hold informed opinions, and the more citizens who address these concerns, be it though newsgroups, op-ed articles, letters to Congress, or passing out leaflets, then the better our government will be. When citizens pass the buck and decide that "those who are currently in the position" are more qualified than we are to think for us, our government will begin to tyrannize its citizens. I just thought I'd jump in here and stir it up a little. I think it'd be keen to not only let group newbies like me (especially the ones who are as bad with names as I am) get a chance to know everyone's name, plus, it'll prolly drive the Frühead population at large batty trying to figure out what the buttons mean. There is a cloned YWGTTM font out there, and the design process itself *should* be easy. I've been meaning to invest in one of those buttonmaking dealie-bobbers, and I'd be willing to actually produce the dern things if there's any interest in this. My sister spent a year of school in the US and remembers that one girl who got drunk at some concert was still being talked about behind her back months later! To me, this is ridiculous as I know people who get blind drunk just about every weekend. It's seen as a way to relax and most people get drunk/drink responisbly...if one can get drunk responsibly. I personally don't like being drunk all that much, sure it can be good fun but I don't like passing that point where you can't remember anything (rumours about me running full tilt into a wall to prove I couldn't get through are sadly true however.
