I asked some people about this on channel last night as well...it seems that everyone has a different answer! Anyway I guess this begs the question to be asked here - Anyone who's ever taken photos and submitted them to FDC: would any of you OBJECT to other Fru fans using your pictures in this way? We're talking about purely personal, non-commercial use, remember, such as ironing them onto a t-shirt for themselves and things like that. I for one (as someone who's got a couple of photos up there) don't mind it a bit, and I'm guessing that will be the general consensus. That's for my photos of the band, but that brings up yet *another* related issue.... Some of us have photos of our original band-related artwork on FDC too. I don't think there's really any question about this one, just common sense: If you want to use a picture of someone else's art (that includes people's drawings of/for the band, cartoons, action figures, AND photos that have been manipulated or otherwise altered by the artist, etc.) - please ask first. Again, I'm sure most of us would gladly give permission if asked and properly credited. k@ ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 8 Apr 1999 11:09:57 -0400 From: "KatieWow" Subject: Re: sue me, no sue me? i, for one, don't particularly mind having my image ironed onto anything. if you really want to put the pictures of me, murray, and jian that are available on the web on t-shirts, more power to ya :). ~~kate - -- evil is just special with a criminal record. - --doug, 3.26.99 everybody loves a happy ending but we don't even try we go straight on past pretending to the part where everyone loves to cry - --elvis costello ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 8 Apr 1999 11:08:13 -0400 From: "KatieWow" Subject: Re: Philly and beyond (a little lengthy)... i've been going to the philly folk fest for a couple of years now, and my feeling is that it's really not much worth the expense (and it is pretty expensive). falcon ridge, however . . . :) ~~kate, whose evil tennyson paper isn't due 'til monday now (and there was much rejoicing! huzzah!) - -- evil is just special with a criminal record. - --doug, 3.26.99 everybody loves a happy ending but we don't even try we go straight on past pretending to the part where everyone loves to cry - --elvis costello ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 08 Apr 1999 11:57:15 -0500 From: Joshua Doell Drury Subject: Re: sue me, no sue me? It's an original play wirtten in colaberation by one of my proffs and a goup of theatre students. It's called Dear Finder and is about the Holocaust. It's gripping, and very well done. It will be performed at the Terrence Theatre at the Kennedy Centre on April 21st and 22nd at 7:30. I have no info about tickets, but I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE you to go see it if you have a chance, this play goes a beyond "We Must Never Forget", and includes illistrations of hate crimes happening today.
