Subject: SMILE this just rocked my world double time and I was hoping that it would bring a smile to someone's face. Hugs to everyone!!!!!!! fruchild, *canoodle!* A SWEET STORY Last week I took my children to a restaurant. My six-year-old son asked if he could say grace. As we bowed our heads he said, "God is good. God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if Mom gets us ice cream for dessert. And Liberty and justice for all! Amen!" Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby I heard a woman remark, "That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice-cream! Why, I never!". Hearing this, my son burst into tears and asked me, "Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?" As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job and God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table. He winked at my son and said, "I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer." "Really?" my son asked. "Cross my heart." Then in a theatrical whisper he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), "Too bad she never asks God for ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes." Naturally, I bought my kids ice cream at the end of the meal. My son stared at his for a moment and then did something I will remember the rest of my life. He picked up his sundae and without a word walked over and placed it in front of the woman. With a big smile he told her, "Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes, and my soul is good already." ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. I was laughing so hard I spit my C-Plus (I love that stuff) out of my nose! Especially those two girls who had a little lesson on 'How *not* to act around the Moffats' -- Don't scream and yell and get all excited...you'll never get to marry them that way!!! The humor in all this was eclipsed by the fact that later that evening, our waiter at dinner looked like one of the Moffats. I only know this because their posters are plastered all over Queen Street :) I have to say though, MuchMusic intrigued me like nothing else ever has, especially that Robbie Williams video they show so much. And in addition (though I'm sure everyone knows this already, and I'm just severely out of touch!) I was watching tv, and there was a show on which showcased authors (I think it was called 'Ziggy' or something, I was never very sure) and the opening music was 'My Baby Loves a Bunch of Authors' played while a girl jumped about on a bed and tossed typewriters. The show was okay (the camera angles made me dizzy) and the featured author sounded really interesting, but I can't remember her name :( - -anna- http://elements.dreamhost.com - -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 29 Mar 1999 16:12:50 -0600 From: Josh Drury Subject: Killing the Moffats for fun and profits Gruneberg Veronica J wrote: >.
