Would one really want to burn at 8x? I've talked to people with even 4x, and they say, in the interests of quality, they rarely burn above 2x. I've never actually burned anything to be able to tell the difference, but just from what I've heard, if you want a perfect copy and you burn audio cds, high speed drives aren't that important...but if anyone disagrees with me, I'd like to hear them, because I'm still in the market for one :-) Aleigh Check it out! Yep. As far as i'm concerned, anything over 70 degrees is getting too hot. I can deal with 80 or 85 if I'm by the ocean, and can hit the waves........ but anywhere else, you need A/C at any temp over 75 or so... or it's just too much. I'd be sooooo happy to have Vermont be below freezing year-round. And have Rhode Island be 80 or so. That way, if I wanted that icky heat, at least I could go to Rhode Island and be by the sea. But when I'm in VT, I could just be happy wearing many layers of clothing and being cozy. Sleeping is soooo much nicer when it's cold and you have lots of nice big fluffy warm blankets to keep you warm..... :) cheers, nate (who's already missing winter.) ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 19 Mar 1999 04:17:13 GMT From: SkyStar117@aol.com Subject: Re: Name spellings leah (who i've yet to introduce myself to...hullo i'm deb:) pondered this: << Ok, so the question about Mike spelling his last name Fjord got me thinking. Perhaps this is a question which has been answered before, but I'm curious. Does anyone know why on both Bargainville and Wood, Jian's name is spelled Jean, but on YWGTTM and LN, it's spelled Jian? Did he change the spelling of his name? Leah>> AND I QUOTE DIRECTLY FROM FDC'S FAQ QUESTION AND ANSWER #13: What happened to Jean? Who's this "Jian" guy who seems to have joined the band? How do you pronounce that? Jian Ghomeshi's name was originally spelled this way. When his family moved to Canada in his youth, his mother changed it to "Jean," perhaps because it seemed easier to pronounce that way; but it's always been, officially, "Jian" (including on his driver's license), his friends have always known him as "Jian," and he's been spelling it "Jian" across the board for about three years now. Jian's heritage is Persian (Iranian). It's not possibly to exactly reproduce the phonetic sound of his name in English letters, but "ZHEE-on" comes closest. hope this helps:) love and lollypops, deb ~sometimes i go into my own lttle world. it's ok though; they know me there. - -annon. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 18 Mar 1999 22:34:51 -0600 From: Chewbacca Subject: Re: Dan Bern Thursday night > Hey I know there aren't too many of y'all down > here in Nashville.
