You know, that's not the first time that I've heard of Americans having absolute panic attacks when they hear our weather reports. Let me give you the quick and easy guide I use when listening to American weather - 32 F is equal to 0 C. So if it's -2 C, it's below freezing. Simple. As for what to bring, I'd recommend sweaters with a few lighter thing to wear too (bars can get *very* hot...) Don't forget your hats, mitts and scarves, 'cause it can get bloody cold here (-2 is not bloody cold. And it was really warm here last week, too. About 10 degrees for a couple of days. People were walking around in t-shirts.) Another word to the wise - Toronto streets can act as a monstrous wind tunnel. Be prepared for that. It's not exactly Portage and Main in January, but still... :) Veronica - -- *************************************************************************** "Never look at the trombones, | Veronica Gruneberg it only encourages them." | Dept. of Biology - Richard Strauss | Queen's University | Kingston, Ontario ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Feb 1999 20:43:33 -0500 From: "KatieWow" Subject: Valentines Greetings!!! hey everyone! even though we've all voiced our dislike of valentine's day, i thought i'd send a happy valentines day greeting! french--je t'amie gaelic--(phonetically) ta gram agam ort italian--ti voglio bene farsi/persian/iranian (they give about 10 different ones, so i used the iranian entry :)--(again, phonetically) mahn doostat doh-rahm check out this website to wish everyone you know a happy day :). http://www.dina.kvl.dk/~fischer/alt.romance/language.html ~~kate - -- **************************************************************************** Kate Leahy kleahy@loyola.edu **************************************************************************** nothing worth having comes without some kind of fight gotta kick at the darkness 'til it bleeds daylight - --bruce cockburn, "lovers in a dangerous time" and so the problem remained; lots of the people were mean, and most of them were miserable, even the ones with digital watches. - --douglas adams, "hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy" we're splitting into two camps--mike, i'm with you. - --jian ghomeshi, bottom line, 1/1 *************************************************************************** ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 14 Feb 1999 20:37:27 -0500 From: "KatieWow" Subject: Re: Oh...hi, by the way (twinkies) yes . . . the chocolate cupcakes are tasty as well, as are whatever those banana things are :). ~~kate - -- **************************************************************************** Kate Leahy kleahy@loyola.edu **************************************************************************** nothing worth having comes without some kind of fight gotta kick at the darkness 'til it bleeds daylight - --bruce cockburn, "lovers in a dangerous time" and so the problem remained; lots of the people were mean, and most of them were miserable, even the ones with digital watches. - --douglas adams, "hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy" we're splitting into two camps--mike, i'm with you. - --jian ghomeshi, bottom line, 1/1 *************************************************************************** JSmooth69 wrote in message <19990214170804.28043.00000462@ng133.aol.com>... ><reign supreme in the world of sweet snack foods. all hail the butterscotch >krimpet!!!!>> > >ooh, I love Butterscotch Krimpets!!!
