Fruvous appeared at the 1996 Newport Folk Festival, although not on the "official" schedule. They played first on Sunday and stole the show as usual. Even though I never use them, because I never wear a coat, but I digress... They have one, and it costs a dollar. At crowded shows, its a pain in the ass to check your coat, and an additional pain to get it back, simply because the check is at the top of a flight of stairs. However, it definitely beats wearing a fat coat in the crowd. They have been known to lose coats, but actually, I've only heard that once, so I shouldn't be spreading misinformation :) The one thing is, I don't remember seeing the check open when there are smaller shown. But their website doesn't really state any stipulations, so, who knows? Actually, my dad and I were having this discussion in the car on the way back from the NYE show. He had gotten this strange magazine called _the journal of irreproduceable results_ which had rather odd experiments people had done. Anyway, to make a long story a bit shorter (only a bit, though, sorry), it had this thing about the Beatles' eyebrows showing their true personalities (I can't really remember how, or I'd explain). The person writing the article came to the conclusion that Paul was the "good boy extrovert", John was the "bad boy extrovert", George was the "bad boy introvert", and Ringo was the "good boy introvert." So my dad and I were going along those lines. All I know is that I think that would make Murray Ringo, because he's the sweet, shy one (not that the rest of them aren't sweet, though!). love Lizzie (wondering if she just made any sense whatsoever) ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 2 Feb 1999 19:58:38 -0500 From: "^kat^" Subject: Re: Canal Street (Dayton, Ohio) show Scott Shaw wrote ... >I just talked to the folks at Canal Street, and there expecting a capacity >crowd tomorrow night!
