Sam-I-Am rightfully grumbled: > I've been sitting here watching E-Bay and Moxy Fruvous stuff go in and out. > I'm sure I'm not the only person who is a little annyoed to see this > happening. I really don't think putting up a CD that's available in stores or for order (if they're not available, ask for them! Another great way to spread the word about the band! Isn't that what Jian always says?) is really ethical, but in no way illegal. It just takes money away from the band. Unless the people who are putting these albums up for auction would have only sold them off to a used music store... then I'm not sure if the band sees any money from that... but that's a whole 'nother can of worms. Even funnier (in an odd funny sort of way) is the yahoo auction for a Früvous "PC clock" http://auctions.yahoo.com/auction/14867940 It's listed as a "software program which displays real-time and date using "Bargainville" CD; buyer pays $4.50 US shipping/handling + $0.50 US packaging; International money orders only please " Now, it sounds interesting, but not something I'm going to pay however much for plus $5 s/h. Especially if it just goes to fund a random programmer and not the band. And that's what I got to say about that! The first musical I was ever in was Guys and Dolls. I love that show! However, I have been involved in two productions of Nunsense (once as director and once as stage manager). It is a cool blue hair show, but I wouldn't touch it again with a ten foot pole. I have also decided NEVER to direct a musical again! It was one of the worst experiences in my theatrical "career". I prefer straight plays to musicals. The only musical I would consider directing would be Caberet. Actually, my friend and I are planning on starting a type of co-op theatre, and Caberet was to be our first musical. However, Broadway had to open it there, soooo, no show for us for now. The Mike featured in the song is Mike Harris ,Ontario's Premier(a position roughly analagous to a govenor) who originally campaigned on a platform called the "common sense revolution" and who has instituted a serious of laws and budget cuts that have really damaged Ontario's social programs. Nothing was spared, even schools and hospitals and the effects of these cuts can be seen Nightly on the CBC's "The National" program ( Canadian national news) with ambulances being turned away from hospitals on an hourly basis and I remember seeing a story awhile back. wherea school had one social studies book for about 35 kids (sounded extreem then ,too, but the CBC seems to be reputable).
