Then she saw that around the time I started liking Fruvous I stopped going to sunday school-too early got nothing out of it- and small group-took time, study better independently and got nothing out of it. Well, two and a half, actually... Plug #1: Da Vinci's Notebook will be appearing on Comedy Central this Sunday, Dec. 6th at 10 p.m. as a part of "Comedy Central's Hi-Fi Party," a one-hour music/comedy special co-hosted by Isaac Hayes and Sandra Bernhardt, and featuring performances by Meat Loaf and the swing band Royal Crown Revue, among others. The show will also be rebroadcast several more times during the month of December; check www.comedycentral.com for complete schedule details. (For those who might not know, Comedy Central is a cable channel devoted to comedy shows & movies--most notably lately, "South Park"--and should be commended for showing "Kids in the Hall" reruns on a daily basis. I'm not sure if it's even available anywhere in Canada, though.) Plug #1a: To celebrate the premiere, we'll be hosting a free show/party/Fan Appreciation Night at Bad Habits Grille in Arlington, VA on Dec. 6th starting at 8 p.m. We'll mess around for a while, then all sit around and watch the show at 10. How self-indulgent, eh? For info & directions, call (703) 998-5808. Plug #2: DVN will also be travelling to Pittsburgh, PA for an a cappella show at Carnegie Mellon Univ. on Saturday, Dec. 12th, and would love to meet any and all Steel City-area Fruheads who would be willing to come out to the show. (We'll also try to further foment the Intra-Pennsylvania rivalry that our Fru-friends have so helpfully stoked.) The salient (I love that word) details: Saturday, December 12, 8 p.m. -- "Acasplosion" (with Da Vinci's Notebook, Fourth Avenue, In Acchord, and the CMU Soundbytes) McConomy Auditorium, CMU Student Center, Pittsburgh, PA Admission: $7 adult, $5 student. Tickets, info, directions: (412) 241-9006 Thank you, as always, for your indulgence.
