Kind of roundaboutly this reminded me of how Jian hits the tambourine during "I Will Hold On." Everytime I get that song in my head, I end up shaking whatever is in my hand (car keys, etc...) the same way. I just wanted to point that out since my friend asked me what I was doing with the keys then I remembered SHE wasn't hearing the song, I was. But I explained and she understood : ) Oh, and if I were spell checking this, it would be signed ~Join (not too amusing though,eh?) ~~~~~~~~~~ "Who will you be when you're finally who you are? I'm not big into having tapes of shows, but there are songs that I'd like to have recordings of that aren't released anywhere. That having been said, I was wondering if anyone could compile a tape of a certain selection of songs that I'd like. I'd be willing to trade a tape of various artist (primarily Ookla the Mok) for whatever anyone could come up with. - --Novac And so, the list of songs I'd like a recording of: Photosynthesis I Will Hold On Green Eggs & Ham (not the indie version, but one that is what they play in concert currently) Pisco Bandito Half as Much Sleepy Drinker (Ballad of) Marion Fruvous Cross Border Shopping Efficiency (hmm...does anyone have this?) The Road Runner Song (uhh...I've never heard this) And, whatever else (Fruvous or no) you think is cool. ------------------------------ Date: 10 Nov 1998 01:37:56 GMT From: novacfreak@aol.com (NovacFreak) Subject: Re: Rochester locations for future Fru-shows >whats wrong with harro-east? Well, if you're interested in inexpensive fare, I would suggest The Charcoal Pit, just down the street from the church, it's a locally reknowned for their burgers and cheesesteaks. They have reeeeaaalllly good milkshakes and grilled cheese sandwiches, if ya dig that sorta thing, like I do : ) If you want some place nicer, John Harvard Brewhouse is pretty good. Or you can go for the standard chain restaurants like Chili's, Bennigans, T.G.I.Fridays, etc, we've got those too. There are quite alot of restaurants right on 202, so you certainly won't have trouble finding something. Plus, there will be desserts and snacks sold prior to the show at the venue. Don't go to Friendly's. Don't go to Friendly's. I'm not exactly sure where the First Unitarian church Hall is, but I stopped in Wilmington for lunch a couple of weeks back on a drive home from NYC. And don't go to Friendly's is about all I have to say. :::shudder::: :-) Aleigh Check it out! Jennifer, YES! Another one of my favorite Canadian bands! (Who says that the "I Love Canadian Boys" T-shirt just implies Fruvous??!?)! I'd also recommend Fully Completely or Road Apples. They are a great, rocking live band to see, and Gord Downie often goes off into these stream-of-consciousness stories in the middle of a song. He is a completely different person on-stage than off...a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde (and they do have a live CD out, too). If you'd like, I'll gladly make a tape of their stuff for you, so you'll have an idea of what other songs are like (sort of a sampler to tempt you to buy)! Just let me know. Susan Oh, and if I need to put Fruvous content in here, I do remember Jian saying he dug Fully Completely. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 10 Nov 1998 02:39:34 GMT From: Ofer Inbar Subject: Re: Having a Gulf War Song day koogle@clark.net writes: > Later, everybody I knew who'd been there was kind of messed up.
