You know I have noticed this at previous concerts and all but never really realized intil I went to the concert in Buffalo. Has anyone ever noticed Jian's body stance? I have noticed, especially for the slower songs, that his feet are turned in, he is holding his wrist, and his shoulders are slightly down instead up back. I do that alot, and I know what it means for me and why I do that, but does anyone know why he does? I don't think I noticed any major body language with the other guys. Look at the picture inside of YWGTTM, the one next to the thank you's, he's holding his hands. I don't know, just wondering has anyone else noticed this? Sheepy ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 8 Nov 1998 18:17:53 -0500 From: "Aye, who's asking whom?" Subject: Video killed the King of Spain? Okay, new question. During Iron Horse weekend, Jian blurted out “one time, we were working on a video...” and the crowd went off. He backtracked by saying “oh wait, we never made a video. Oh no!” and proceeded to “speculate” on how hard it must be to wear high-heel leather boots. As I am privileged to have a copy of the video for “Down from Above”, I know he’s talking about the freak scene Tristan Tzara/dada outfits the Lads wore as cult leaders in the video. (Before you ask for a copy of my copy, it’s a dub of a dub and I haven’t got a dubbing system so I shall not be offering copies). The Lads like to present a fan-based persona when they’re in the States, so I understand their reluctance to admit they have several videos. They aren’t about to get on MTV, even if they had a good bout or two on MuchMusic (the MTV of Canada, which has a cornucopia of genres and a great mix. One of the few times I was able to watch it, they played Dream Warriors’ “My Definition of a Boombastic Jazz Style” followed by BNL’s “What a Good Boy”). Two of the videos I saw, “Down from Above” and “Fell in Love”, qualify on my books for great direction and visual effect (especially “Fell in Love”, with the severe black and white contrast and fade-out shots). These could easily make a clean sweep on American television. So now I ask: if they could make plenty of money selling a tape of Moxy Fruvous videos in the United States, why do they deny us? Would it really be Fru-Kryptonite? - -were it not for Perry White, Dante ------------------------------ Date: 8 Nov 1998 23:35:22 GMT From: kdsinthhal@aol.comatose (KdsInThHal) Subject: Re: Fru fest weekend 98, pt I (really long!!) >I chatted with Kim and Andi before getting my first sound of >an incredibly talented local group called SMNMNMNM. I'm not totally sure how this works, if I reply to something posted from a newsgroup, does the person who posted receive it? I guess I'll find out. I'm a quick learner. I've noticed it too. I think Jian is the most expressive (ie emotional) about some of his songs. I'm very curious about it. I asked him, while at Case Western in Cleveland, why he holds on to his necklace so tightly while people are singing The Drinking Song. With so many fans, and having taken up more than my share of time speaking with him, I didn't get an answer. Soon, I hope. (NYC? New Years Eve!!) Besides all the wonderful stuff they all do, this makes Jian so much more real.. human.. intriguing. I'd guess that he is a passionate and sensitive person, and being an artist, he expresses that. Just a guess. And now for my question: Does anyone know what the deal is w/ Starbucks? They mentioned something during the concert and I forgot to ask. Thanks! - -Lynne >You know I have noticed this at previous concerts and all but never really >realized intil I went to the concert in Buffalo. Has anyone ever noticed >Jian's body stance?
