(noho) hi everyone! i can hardly believe that it's been almost a week since noho, the wonderful feelings and vibes are still with me as if it was only yesterday, and will forever remain in my heart and mind. since other people have already written lovely and detailed reviews, and since i will inevitably mix up who said what, when and in what order, etc, ill spare everyone the trouble of translating my insanity.... what i would like to say however, is thank you to all the amazing people who made last weekend one of the best i've ever had. everyone i met was friendly, warm and caring, and i appreciate everyone's attempt to get me to talk despite my quiet nature :) im so happy to have met so many of you in person, from those who were gracious enough to provide me with transportation, shelter and sustenance (thank you adam!!), those who got me tickets and made sure that shrinky dinks like me could see the stage (thank you bill!!), to those who were nothing but friendly and sweet to me (thank you everyone who was in noho, from those who i really got to know, to those who i didnt really meet, but who still made the atmosphere so positive and welcoming) of course, i could not complete this post without thanking the men of fruvous themselves. thank you mike, murray, jian, and dave for creating such wonderful music that not only is tantalizing to the ears, but to the mind as well. thank you for truly caring about your fans in a way that no other band has yet proven to. thank you for providing me with a medium to meet the wonderful people of this newsgroup, irc, and those who are unconected to electronic media as well. since i could go on like this forever, ill just say, at the risk of repeating myself, thank you for everything . finally, i would like to wish tom and rachel all the luck in the world. may your love continue to grow and bloom like an eternal rose, that with each passing season grows only more beautiful and fragrant. - - nora ( the angel/devil) ****** "Grandpa!" That was the fastest flame war I've ever imagined :) Hrm, I seem to be experiencing a sense of deja vu. I wonder why. I'm glad we got that over with in any case. Oh wait, I think we forgot the "fake ID" scenarios. Nevermind. If I don't stop now I'm going to start imagining that I'm flaming my own posts :) I'm glad that there are some shows just for adults. However, once I had a dream that Jian owned a bookstore that had this little restaurant attached to it. Also, I had a very strange dream that Dave, after a show, gave me one of those little red fire alarm things that say "pull down in case of fire." (My hippie side is taking over for a bit while the geek side waits patiently). I have read it so many times. However, it's one of those things where I go: "This is such a great book!" Other person: "That's nice" Me: "You should read it sometime" Other person: "Whatever, Lizzie." This happens to me a lot. Luckily with music, I can usually manage to trap people in a room or car long enough to make them listen to at least one song. Which usually leads to things like my friend Katie asking her mom to get her "Wood" for her birthday (she did get it). (I was so proud). love Lizzie ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 05 Nov 1998 19:30:34 -0500 From: Amy Cartagena Subject: Irving Plaza Hey, everyone going to Irving Plaza next Tuesday: I'm afraid our Frü-fest will be cut short, due to the "opening band" status. Let's beg and plead for encores to extend their set. This is my first fruvous experience and I want it to last as long as it can! Who all is going, and what time should we get there? OK, I still have NOT figured out what my keyboard's prob is........ thank the heavens for folks like Lori to help out in that capacity. So, until such time as my keyboard decides to STOP fruvousing, I am forced to divorce my quotation marks and come up with some ingenious way to show excitement.
