Hey Lori (and anyone else not at NoHo). I'm here. I'm sad. I just watched the Commitments so I could get a good dose of quality music. That movie never ceases to amaze me. Anyway, I'm basically being all grumpy 'cause it appears that the ENTIRE FREAKING NEWSGROUP is at NoHo and I'm holed up in bloody Washington. Yeesh. Not to mention that the people who are there spent the last several days touting their good fortune. *sigh* Oh well. I can comfort myself with my NEW CD's!!!!! I got Great Big Sea (as per everyone's rec), The Bob's, this cute guy named Steve Poltz and...THE KLEZMATICS: Jews With Horns. Why get that, you say? Well, because ***the lads sing backup on the first track!*** That and I love Klezmer music. You know how it is. Anyway, take care. I'm spending my evening preparing a delicacy for the Hallowe'en party that I will be attending tomorrow night. Get this. A big round fishbowl. Fruit Cocktail at the bottom, Berry Blue Jell-O filling it (like water, dig?) with a bunch of Swedish Fish and a Gummi Octopus suspended in it. I'm quite pleased. Right now the cocktail is chilling. I'll let you know how it turns out. Hope your evening is filled with something interesting. Mail me if you like, I'll be here (Hrrmph). And the rest of you, get on the ng and say something profound so the rest of those buggars will regret not having been here. We can make up cool stories. You know, someone got their personal song recorded by the lads for their Fru-miles or something. Make 'em jealous. ; ) A peaceful evening, Heather Moore On Sat, 31 Oct 1998 04:33:28 GMT Srm9988n@aol.com writes: >Anyone out here? > >Or am I alone in this wilderness? > >Oh no, is that a dangerous.... pork tenderloin I hear? > >Just wondering. > >Good night all. > >-- Lori > ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. I post a message about driving down to the rochester and buffalo shows next week, and the only replies are concerning my references to geography. Am I the only FruFan driving from (ok, we'll be nitpicky) Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, to Rochester, NY, USA next week? If you're planning on heading down, or looking for a ride there, send me an email. If you have never heard (of) him, you should check him out if you get the chance. He's sort of a country-western-blues-surfer rock 'n' roll kind of guy. He's a heckuva guitar (gee-tar?) player with a great voice. I had a great time but must admit that I listened to Moxy all the way to +ACY- from the Grizzly Rose, maybe in hopes of somehow being magically transported from here to Massachusetts......... didn't happen, tho...... )o: Anyhow, to those of you who have ONLY 13 - 15 days to see our lads, have fun. I'll be waiting about a month. Going to Ithaca +ACY- Clinton to see 'em December 1, 3 +ACY- 4. Anyone gonna be there? Let me know....... To everyone - have a great Halloween, wherever you are............... I'll be here wishing I were elsewhere........... sniff, sob, sniff.......... over 'n' out xoxoxo bridget (o: +ACI-It's a dirty job but they're very suave. I have now seen my first show. Woo Hoo. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT. That was the best show I have ever seen!!!! And they didn’t just perform their songs. They read a whole narrative in between the songs to go along with them. They were fantastic. There was a couple in the audience and the guy wanted to propose marriage to his girlfriend. He prearranged for the band to sing the proposal and he gave her the ring. She accepted and then they got to stay up on stage while the band did a song for them. For another song, the guy who does their webpage (sorry I don't remember his name) got to accompany them on the piano. Good show! I wish I were going again tomorrow.
