I had a similar experience with a co-worker. I was on a computer rollout project in Sandusky where we were working out of the executive parking garage. I set up our main system with speakers so we'd actually have something besides chirping birds to listen to. I was pulling cd's out of my bag when the team leader happened to seen the Bargainville cover from across the room. In true Homer Simpson fashion, he mumbles, "Mmmm....Bargainville." My head snapped around and, eyes wide, I ask if I heard him correctly...if he does indeed know of Moxy Fruvous. He begins to tell me of the all-to-familiar story of the first song he ever heard (KoS, of course:) on college radio in Columbus. Imagine his surprise when I point him to the website, tell him about #Moxy, and let him borrow the other 4 cd's. I haven't gotten him to go to any concerts yet, but he still listens to his Bargainville cd all the time. OK...back to work... I had a similar experience while at work this summer (a period in my life I'd rather forget about. Work. ) Anyway... I too had decorated my cubicle suitably with photos of my friends, and my nicely autographed Live Noise poster. Since most of the people in my basement office never seem to leave said basement, I had to endure MANY "Who are Moxy Fruvous?" comments. Which I found utterly depressing, since this was Toronto, for pete's sake. (Most outlandish comment: "Moxy Fruvous? Are they anything like the Smashing Pumpkins?" Huh?!) Anyway, I was working away at my computer, when a two voices behind me say "Moxy Fruvous?! You like those guys!?" Turns out that one of the guys was a fan from way back in the CFNY days (shows how old I am - it's still CFNY as far as I'm concerned) and the other had gone to Thornhill Collegiate with the guys. (Jian, the name Kellman Meghu ring any high school memory bells?) I was suitably impressed. And this story has turned out to be far longer than I expected, so I'll stop now. :) Veronica - -- ***************************************************************************** And in the end | Veronica Gruneberg The love you take | Dept. of Biology Is equal to the love | Queen's University You make... | Kingston, Ontario ------------------------------ Date: 29 Oct 1998 20:47:12 GMT From: jianbabe@aol.com (JianBabe) Subject: Re: Frureference @ Nields show >Also the label of the one, the only Big Black King of Spain, Vance >Gilbert!
