I can't seem to get online at all. I currently dial in to BGSU's network. However, because they're cheap bastards, they can't handle the capacity of dial-in's they're getting. Thus I wait at least a half hour just to dial in. After finally getting connected, for reasons I do not yet understand, I only have between 5 and 15 minutes worth of time that I actually receive any data...then it flatlines. I would say that it's a preset timeout period, but the length of time is never the same. Anyway, I'm trying to find a new ISP so I can return to the glorious world of mIRC. Hope to see you all soon. A UIUC a capella group, whose name escapes me right now because we have about five or six of them, has actually covered "I Love My Boss" on their CD. I got to hear 'em perform it on the lawn at Ravinia outside of Chicago during Ravinia's opening weekend this summer; they were all quickly miffed when I told 'em I was going to see Moxy in concert in Chicago that evening, since none of them were going to be able to make it. In unrelated news, I noticed a student in my campus church wearing a Budgie Dog t-shirt Saturday evening, and made it a point to compliment him on the way out for it. Nice to know that Moxy's grass-roots efforts have not been in vain. :-) - - Marty ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 29 Oct 1998 19:28:22 GMT From: Srm9988n@aol.com Subject: Re: Pisco puns :) Doug wrote: > Josh Drury wrote: > > preferably with a recently polished AK-47. >Ammo all neat-o? and refrigerated. :p - -- Lori "...When I am dreaming, I don't know if I'm truly asleep or if I'm awake And when I get up, I don't know if I'm truly awake, or if I'm still dreaming..." ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 29 Oct 1998 19:31:39 GMT From: Srm9988n@aol.com Subject: Re: save the pumpkins Chad wrote: > I guess that makes me some sort of vegetable cannibal. > Or something like that. From this American's perspective (and understand I'm from the Philadelphia suburbs, where state-of-the-art supermarkets were, until quite recently, nonexistent) Loblaws, particularly the one in Gatineau (hi hKath!) was a mystical experience. A Mecca of comestibles, and all so freaking *cheap*!!! I *love* Loblaws. (My son is equally enthralled by its Maritime sister, Atlantic SuperStores. 2.5 years after a vacation in Nova Scotia he still speaks of it fondly -- by name -- as the last place he ever was able to obtain the Presidents' Choice French/Blue Cheese dressing that is his absolute favorite salad topping in the universe.
