Seems unlikely >(especially the "took them to a show" scenario), but... Well, you can read my reviews of the Colorado shows at fruvous.com to get a better picture of my experience with the 'non-convertibles'.......... but I went to all *3* Colorado shows: the first two with my little sis (Becky - born to be a fruhead) and the third with my older brother & sister & future brother-in-law (P.J., Cindy & Darren, respectively). At the third show, while Moxy was excellent, my company left QUITE a lot to be desired....... they don't (by any means) understand my obsession with this band. To say they were 'unmoved' would be a gross understatement. P.J. and Darren are fans of 'Tool'......... o-: ......... 'Metallica' ........... o-: ............ and god-knows-what other rubbish. Cindy is your typical 'couch-potato', not knowing what it's like to turn off the $%#@ing television for one night!!!!! I guess music (no, I don't consider Tool & Metallica 'music') is just waaaaaay more important to some of us than it is to others........... But in the case of my brother, perhaps I am speaking a little too harshly......... I have come thisclose to talking him into coming to New York with me to see Moxy on December 1, 3 & 4. I'll keep working at that, and perhaps one day I'll have one more convert under my belt!!! All of you please please please keep your fingers crossed......... In fact, we are thinking about heading to Toronto in February. our Frücaravan is currently up to 23 interested (yay for converts)... although i'm sure half of them "won't be able to make it" by the time we actually figure this all out... maybe by then we'll have even more converts :P >weird person: Are you going to the Third Eye blind concert next >weekend? >me: Heck no! I actually went to that show (yay, for free tickets!) when they stopped by denver... but i got kicked out before 3eb came on (heh, we wont talk about that or my Beastie Boys extravaganza either...). ah well, i only went for Eve 6. They're super nice guys and they do a totally punk rockin' cover of "leavin on a jet plane" I dunno, just reading all these posts for the past few months i'm beginning to find it odd that me and my buds are becoming freek-fans of the frülads... i mean, #1 we're just kiddies (15-23yo) #2 we listen to mainstream stuff (that seems to be scoffed at on this ng)... i mean, the last concerts i've been to (in the past 2 weeks) with my converts have been as follows: Rancid, Fatboy Slim, BNL, Ho Hum, The Flys, Man or Astroman?, Janus Stark (rumor told me that this has one of the band members of "prodigy" in it... i dunno...) #3 while all of you (and it sure does seem like *all* of you) are gonna be at the IH shows... we'll be having a skankin' good time at the annual SKA-lloween concert, a genre of music i really don't see many of you liking (i'm sure there are exceptions... don't get me wrong) #4 none of us like the nields. (their music, i'm sure they're really nice people) #5 If it weren't for the lack of high-quality snowboarding i would move to SoCal... for the music of all things. Perhaps we're just evidence of the "main-stream" catching on... which i'm sure thrills all of you and totally disappoints you at the same time. While I wouldn't call my musical preferences "mainstream," (yah, my fave bands are TMBG, MTX, Nerf Herder, Lincoln, & Cheeky Monkey), I do groove to large-amounts of mainstream "pop" or "alternative." I just wish they'd make it out here more often so we (i make it sound like we're doing all the work... nah, they have nothing to do with it!) could convert some more "folks" take it easy, JOrdaN http://www2.netcom.com/~arnot/joda/bootlegs.html you made it this far? on a post from a lurker? impressive... three and one-third bonus cookies for you! :) ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail. Anyone? > Well, Cal explained this rather well, so you might want to go back and check that post, but essentially because this is a special night, the guys would like to be able to focus on the creative element without the distraction of clicking cameras (flash or no flash). I can't imagine how difficult it must be when you try to make a connection with the audience and see cameras instead of eyes. Moxy Fruvous has always been more than generous about allowing photos and taping, so we should really accept when they say it's not okay. Wait until after the show and snap your photos then. And even when they *do* let you take pictures at shows, no flash. It's not only distracting, it can be blinding - making for a potentially dangerous situation. We're exceptionally spoiled by this band's generosity toward their fans. We should all remember that really go out of thier way for us. And, in the end, when they feel more comfortable on stage, *we* get a better show. But again, I was the one who accidentally posted the response from Jian. This was not meant to be a public correspondance. Jian did NOT want any of this information known. I made a mistake. I was trying to get through to Hugo R., the mail got bounced back to me. I wanted to make sure that this message got through to him, so I posted the response from Mr. Ghomeshi. I had meant to only send the paragraph that ws directed towards Hugo. I forgot that just hitting forward on AOL also copied the entire letter and just didn't think about the fact that Mr. Ghomeshi's e-mail address would be copied and shared with everyone. I sincerely hope that I can be forgiven. I assure everyone that this was not intentional. I apologize to Jian for sharing confidential information about his e-mail and about the band's plans for the show. And I apologize to the fans for ruining a nice surprise.
