They just have to be cooked right. When roasted w/ other root veggies (beets, carrots, parsnips, etc...) in an oven w/ olive oil, fresh herbs... garlic... pepper.... They're wonderful! They're also really good when deep-fried.... (Yes, that's right...... rutabega fries!) Fry 'em at 300 or so to cook through, then let cool.... then re-fry at 375 or so to crisp. Salt and pepper... and yum! :) nate, lover of root vegetables..... ------------------------------ Date: 28 Oct 1998 15:14:54 GMT From: hprodrig@chat.carleton.ca (Hugo Palma-Rodrigues) Subject: Re: Fwd: Confirmation of videotaping from Jian > In a message dated 10/27/98 11:15:50 PM Eastern Standard Time, > jian1@compuserve.com writes: > << You can do me one favour. No kidding. Yesterday I er.. used Früvous (without actually naming them) to help me prove a point about how humour works. I was saying that humour was used in "Green Grass Running Water" at points where it was very important for us to pay attention. I pointed out that people tend to re-read funny bits. I then explained that "a group I was a fan of" used Canadian political humour in its shows and that every so often there's a .. "I know that was funny but who exactly is so-and-so" question from fans. People tend to want to know why the joke was funny so we investigate the issue the joke referred to. Humour catches our attention and motivates us to think about what is going on. The "prof" (this is a 4th year class taught by a guy who's still working on a PhD thesis) thought it was very deep. :P Fiona - -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own ------------------------------ Date: 28 Oct 1998 07:14:23 -0800 From: "Jason A.
