I mean, we all know that, but the review Chris has posted at http://www.fruvous.com/news/981016nw.html is a prime example. It's a pretty favourable review actually but the reviewer is just sooo not a Frühead. There's "too much banter" on the CD. Grunge of Spain is the "standout track", a "gem" that will leave you "spellbound"(ok I know some of you like it but this is going a bit far.) And Moxy Früvous "comes across as a hard-working Irish party band, as exemplified by the album's concluding track, "The Drinking Song."" Um... there are so many things wrong with that sentence I could write an essay. *sigh* Fiona - -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 27 Oct 1998 09:33:21 -0700 From: katrin@dimensional.com (Katrin Luessenheide Salyers) Subject: Re: Frureference In Nields Song In article <71350o$71s$1@vixen.cso.uiuc.edu>, jimcclur@ews.uiuc.edu says... > On their Midwest tour, Moxy added "Gotta Get Over Greta" to the Love > Potion Medley and the Nields sort of dedicated "Superhero Soup" to > Fruvous, adding the following verse, to the tune of a Who song > [Baba O'Reilly]: > > Out here in the fields > I am one of the Nields > We do our best to make you groove with us. > But we don't even come close > To the superheros > Those in a band To me it sounded like "foxes of rock" > called Moxy Fruvous. Their more keeping with nature (in my mind - every time I hear PTT I picture this short leprichon type being with curly-toed shoes and a funny hat). Anyone who's ever read EQ (hopefully) will know what I'm talking about. Besides, i don't own a elf-like coat (?). Not odd at all :) I usually end up singing along to Murray's part in Message, just depends on my mood... Try singing along to GE&H with other Früheads, everyone only choosing one part - can be very entertaining :) (*remembers driving back to Michelle's after the 'van incident' doing just that with Chrissy, Dan, and Michelle's niece and nephew during Frümiles*) Drea "Get in the car/the concert is near/it isn't that far..."
