It's the CD release for their new album, Play (just like fruvous, The Nields have just recently signed to an extremely cool record label, Rounder Records). The Iron Horse is their "home venue", so they often do really cool things there. And what with the two random Floridians I'm hosting who flew up just to see these shows and posted to the Nields mailing list looking for rides and a place to stay... It all feels very fruvian :) Anyway, at the second show last night, The Nields debuted a brand new song they said they'd never even rehearsed together before. It's a very silly song, with two possible endings so the audience has to vote just before the last verse (now how're they gonna get that on an album?) and there's an equally dance that goes with it. Just before Katryna was going to teach people the dance, she said, "I bet moxy fruvous' fans would do this dance!", to general laughter. "Everybody do the mob zombie boogie woogie tonight!" [BTW, they played "James"! I haven't seen that live in forever!] -- Cos (Ofer Inbar) -- cos@leftbank.com cos@cs.brandeis.edu -- WBRS (100.1 FM) -- WBRS@brandeis.edu http://www.wbrs.org/ "Isn't it a shame, that someone so crazy could go so insane?" -- The Nields, "James" ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Oct 1998 18:44:25 GMT From: Amy Schrader Subject: Re: AUGH! I can't wait! - -Ken ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Oct 1998 20:43:46 GMT From: Sheepy311@aol.com Subject: Another Lurker Hi there :) I have posted a few times, but I never formally introduced myself. My name is Katy, but everyone calls me Sheepy so feel free to call me which ever you like better. I've kind of been the silent onlooker for a few months now, with a post here and there. If someone were to ask me what my favorite Fru song was I wouldnt be able to answer. I love it all I just couldnt pick out ONE favorite. I love Live Noise just because it combines some of their great stuff all into one little album, but Wood is definatly close to my heart. I'm going through withdrawl of that CD because I let my friend borrow it! Anyways, to my question, who (and I know you are out there) is going to the show in Buffalo, the 6th or the 7th? Just curious...
