I especially loved Dave, with the black toque and sunglasses (but then again, don't I always especially love Dave? Never mind...). Anyway, he looked like a pretty shady character. I thought he had just come back from robbing a convenience store or something ;-). >Saharra was great. Sahara *was* great. Horseshoes better watch out, Sahara may eventually replace it as my "favorite Moxy song of all time"... Take care, Krista (no longer scared of using her real name on the newsgoup...she figures if somebody wanted to gain information in order to do something terrible to her a)they could have done it anyway; and b)they probably would have done it already :-). She does, however, still have a problem with adding long-winded signatures in which she talks in the third person. She assures you that she is working on this.) ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Oct 1998 00:25:06 -0400 From: Thomas Fazzio Subject: By Chance Well, it happened to me: I was walking through a dorm here on campus when what to my attentive ears do I hear? Why it was the beat of a conga from a room I was near. {Sorry about that, it just seemed to fit} Yeah, I happened to walk by a room and hear the beat of a conga that I *knew* was familiar. After the second round of conga beats, I figured out it was Früvous. So I step into the room of a complete stranger and ask (even though I knew the answer) "Is this Früvous?" Sure enough, he said "yes" to which I respond "How long have you been a fan?" And to my surprise he says "about 5 seconds". His friend had asked him to find a copy of Green Eggs & Ham, and (un)fortunately he found the mp3 on the internet. Through our brief conversation I found out he had heard of Moxy before, and after hearing GE&H he is wanting to buy a CD or two. I even told him I'd be driving to a concert soon (hopefully Clinton and Montreal) and am looking for riders. To my delight he said "sure". Well, so far this year I have found 5 new Früfriends on campus. All I can say is that I am happy, 'cause if (when?) Früvous comes to Clarkson University I know there would be a pretty good showing of students from here, let alone the other 3 colleges in a 10 mile radius... later, tom. ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Oct 1998 05:10:04 GMT From: Srm9988n@aol.com Subject: Re: another song wish list... sort of A.J. wrote: > PLEASANT Canadian-American relations? Five hours later, you still can't get the damn twangy tune out of your head, even tho you don't remember the words, having only heard it twice. So you go online with the express intent of posting about this experience. (Hmmm. Maybe we should add "Have posted way too much to this newsgroup" to the "have listened to/have seen..." question above.) And there's a song I'd like to hear again. I can't get to the NoHo festivities, but maybe that sneaky, dangerous, tender, succulent pork tenderloin could find its way onto the setlist at Wilmington, or Katonah? :) - -- Lori ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Oct 1998 05:28:45 GMT From: Srm9988n@aol.com Subject: Re: the Gospel according to Fruvous In a message dated 98-10-24 16:20:32 EDT, you write: Trace wrote: >>> *ladywench puts her hands on her hips and tries to look stubborn* >>> >>> (Guess I won't work on an unabridged version tho) >> You bloody well will so. You created The Thread That Absolutely Will Not Die. Perhaps it needs a stake through the heart. Or a silver bullet. Or a bucket of water. I just hope you're wearing your ruby slippers, dear, because you're not back in Kansas yet, and not even the Wizard knows what dangerous lands lie ahead on this journey. In fact, you could probably write a child-care book. Hmmm. "Care of the Young and the Short: Parenting the Fruvous Way." That sounds like a lot more fun, and probably would be at least as effective as most of the others out there. :) Seriously, you and your daughter are honestly sharing a mutual enjoyment of something, and that's wonderful, because the entertainment values of parent and child don't coincide all that often. (Just think of the times you've had to sit through Barney, knowing it's something she loves and therefore tolerating it even though it sets your teeth on edge.) She's hardly the only child who enjoys Fruvous -- the Kids Corner radio show here in Philly plays them regularly -- and they're far better than a lot of "child-centered" entertainment. So just enjoy the fact that you've got a baby Frufan, and pride yourself on her superior taste. :) - -- Lori ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 25 Oct 1998 07:19:23 GMT From: petit_chou@juno.com Subject: AUGH!
