This actually does work. Check out http://www.halcyon.com/griffee/moxy/moxypics.html and you'll see a few pictures my mother got of Fruvous at the Bottom Line with her flash similarly taped over. We're planning to attend, no matter what we have to do - but Tom refuses to drive that far (can't realistically take that much time off work, either) so we'll most likely be flying. However, if you're planning to pass through the Minneapolis area, I can give you a couple of addresses of certain deadbeat sisters of mine who need to be kidnapped and dragged along. That'll teach 'em to think that 10/8 show just wasn't important enough to get to when their poor big sister was stuck out here in Colorado, pining away. k@ ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 22 Oct 1998 16:55:19 GMT From: "A.J. Well I think we ALL appreciate your creative urges, but the thing that makes art great is when it makes people think, and that is what "The Gospel" did--clearly. It is not necessarily a bad thing to cause contention. This also makes us think. (God knows the four biblical gospels caused their share of contention.) Just because an argument erupted from your creative work doesn't make the can of worms nasty at all. Worms are beneficial, they aerate the soil. (Hey, I take my metaphors where I find 'em). People have to stop feeling bad every time they start a heated discussion online. Discussion is how we learn who we are and what we really think. I hate to say it, but really if one's skin is so thin that they can't handle a little heated debate then they need to either avoid those threads, or avoid Usenet entirely. This Newsgroup is one of the most friendly and civil on the internet, even during a major argument. That is (I guess) because of the type of people that Fruvous attracts. (Give yourselves a hand!). I don't get the impression that Hugo (for example) hates any of the people who have posted to this thread; just the opposite actually. He had something to say, so he said it, and in the ensuing discussion we all learned a few things (including way too much about fruvous' tour schedules 4 years ago). :) Anyway, enough of me. Quit reading this and go do something useful. I'm going to! A.J. - -- Q: How many art directors does it take to screw in a light bulb? "BERNHARD GETS HAYES-ED Isaac Hayes and Sandra Bernhard served up some hot buttered soul at NYC's Roseland Ballroom Tuesday night , singing a duet of "Theme From Shaft," Hayes' 1971 hit. The unlikely pair were co-hosting "Comedy Central's Hi Fi Party," which will air Dec. 6 at 10 p.m. EDT on the cable channel. Meat Loaf and a number of other musical acts, including Da Vinci's Notebook, Royal Crown Revue and the Bert Fershners, joined Hayes and Bernhard for the taping of the TV special, which was billed as a showcase for alternative music and comical musical acts." The closest I've seen is Früvous and the Worms together in a workshop at Summerfolk. PRICELESS. Keep the animosity alive!! :) - -- Marie-Claude "I'm beside myself.
