(was Re: Strange ILMB moment) Let me just take another brief venture into semi-off-topic-land to state yet again how cool this ng is! "Brazil" is currently my second-favorite movie of all time (right after "The Wizard of Oz"), and I rented it (again) a couple of weeks ago. Then, last week after listening to B, while humming the tune to ILMB, I suddenly realized it was actually the song "Brazil," and discovered the similarity. So when this thread started I had to laugh and nod vigorously in agreement. I should have figured that someone would come up with the connection to the movie -- but I must say I'm going to have to watch it again to get that quote from "Jockey." What could be better -- a Fruvous/Terry Gilliam connection! ...now back to your regularly scheduled programming... - -- amy - ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - ---- "maybe you don't like your job, maybe you didn't get enough sleep; well, nobody likes their job, nobody got enough sleep" --Ani DiFranco - ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - ---- sirilyan@my-dejanews.com wrote in article <70iq1b$820$1@nnrp1.dejanews.com>... >Was ILMB inspired by some old rhumba song? I may actually be able to get down to T.O. for a week this February, happily coinciding with the Fruhead convention (Damnit, this program won't let me do the alt-characters, hence no umlaut... but I digress). Anyways, before I make plans, I could use a bit of info from any Fruveterans of this kind of activity, such as: What kinds of cost are there associated with it, other than the concert tix? How many people attend usually? Where's a good place to stay in Toronto? And what the hell do you do for four days, other than the shows? If you don't want to waste the ng's time or space with a response ('cause you know how ruthlessly efficiently we run this), just e-mail me at umdruryj@cc.umanitoba.ca. Thanks! Nothing quite like a stereotype huh? What, nothing about hockey players and how about candian bacon? You guys invented that didn't you? Imagine that, canadian bacon having success in the US, my god!, its actually used at McDonalds! Is there nothing sacred? Canadian bacon is probably my biggest candidate for being a sell out, definitely. Its only a matter of time before Poutine goes south... This was the first time we had a sort of ng unity going on out here (at least from my point of view) and it was an incredible time. The guys put on some great shows (one spectacularly great show) and I'm glad we got to see them together. Either one. Both. Or get Melanie to join them on "The Mary Ellen Carter" again. . .if they'll EVER play it, that would be a good time. *smile* Of course, if Sarah Slean is available, I wouldn't turn my nose up at her either. . . ceecee ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #837 ********************************************
