Umm...not quite. MuchMusic barely played any Fruvous after Bargainville (hell, I didn't even know that there *were* videos made after 'Stuck in the 90s' till I saw Chrissy's videotape at Frumiles!) As for radio..I can't vouch for any other Ontario cities, but Thunder Bay radio only plays Fruvous when they're up here for a show, so 'hearing them on the radio' isn't much of an option either. plus in the distance travelled to go from thunderbay to minnesota > (*wink*) you can probably reach 10x more people in the US than you do in > Canada (when you're touring I would imagine that its nice to have stops, > especially ones that pay). Actually, you can be in *Minnesota* in *less than 1 hr* from Thunder Bay :P Oh, you mean *Minneapolis*...that's a different story ;> You're right about the stops though, as the only place they could play between here and there would be Duluth, and that's 4 hrs away. (And considering that they seem to have a good following in Minneapolis already, why would they bother to stop in Duluth?). If you're going to complain about 'lack of access' feel sorry for those of us here in NW Ontario and those west of Winnipeg (both American and Canadian, before any of the west coast people jump on me for this ;>) - our 'close' venues are 7-8 hrs away *g* and two shows in a year is the maximum we can expect. I'm not complaining (much *g*), just agreeing with you. After all, it's easier to be able to drive only a few hours to be somewhere for the next few shows rather than 8 hrs for a single show...especially if you aren't jumping time zones every day or so like the Frulads were doing at the beginning of this tour. I'm going to be a dance geek for a second and point out that ILMB is just a *wee* bit too fast to samba to. Salsa, sure. You can salsa to anything. You could probably samba to 'King of Spain' more easily. 'Boo Time' is one I've been trying to figure out how to bring to swing night for some time, but it's not quite... right. The Chicago Blues version would be, though. Do they have any good cha-cha tunes in their repetoire? Waltz?? I'd love nothing more than to have a good excuse to turn my entire dance club into raving luna... er, Fruheads. - - Marty: Swing King of Spain ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 Oct 1998 14:58:13 -0400 From: Thomas Fazzio Subject: Umlaut > , how DO you get the "u" with the umlaut? I never payed much attention in class, but I would like to think that umlaut is the u character with the two dots above it, such as this: ü Commonly used in the name Moxy Früvous. Well, if you want to use that character you can go ahead and copy from this post into a file and then copy from that file everytime you want to use it. But I guess you may not want to do that, so here ya go: Non-Mac: ALT+0252 meaning: hold down the ALT key and press the numbers 0252 in that order then release the ALT key. Mac: Simply hold down the command key, press the letter u, release the command key, press the letter u. (That is what I remember from my Mac days at least. It seems those strange characters are easier on the Mac, anyone wanna argue?) later, tom. ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 Oct 1998 19:10:51 GMT From: McCown Subject: Re: New Year's Eve...? You see (I know you all care) but my family just decided NOT to go to Scotland for X-mas like we were planning, for various reasons, and just drive up to NYC for about a week. Now I know what we will be doing at night. (this is all-ages, right?). Fruvous AND Dan Bern...how excited can I get? Just last night my dad said "Dan Bern, we haven't heard any news about him in a while..." I said maybe he had been banned from Pennsylvania, after being banned from the Phila. Folk Fest (honestly, some people have no sense of humor). But anyway, this just makes my day! love Lizzie ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 20 Oct 1998 19:37:52 GMT From: Srm9988n@aol.com Subject: Re:whoa! too much excitement!
