The radio station is holding a CD release party with live entertainment (a cool artist named Roger Klug) from 6 to 8. Its only a few steps away from Greaves concert hall, where fruvous will be playing. The doors for the concert open at 8. Who's on the disc being released by the station? From the WNKU web page: Roger Klug; Hello Dave; Madeleine Peyroux; Thornetta Davis and Big Chief; Bruce Cockburn; Similar Nature; Patty Larkin; Chris Collier; Han Thessink and Blue Groove; Whiskeytown; Uncle Daddy and the Family Secret; Lee Harvey Skaswald; Venice; Carrie Newcomer; Phil Cody. Tickets are still available for Fruvous and there's not a bad seat in the house! Have the boys ever > filled this place (or any other in town) before? They've filled lotsa venues, most recently, Chicago on Saturday. Last time they played Ludlow's (the show tonight) they sold the place out and I would guess that will happen again. But Bloomington is still a growing market. They've been playing Columbus, Chicago, and Champaign in the midwest for years now. Their first Bloomington show was July 31st, 1997 (also my first frushow!) and they've played there once since them (November 1997). Note that July 31st was middle of the summer, so most of the crowd local or travellers (that's where I met Louisville-ites Marty and Mary and Andi for the first time). That show was okay. Most of the tables had people at them. Maybe 50-60 people I'd guess. The second show was better. More people there to see the band, radio play before hand. I'd guess twice the first time, 100-120 people packed in. Most chairs were full and the wall bench had people too. We even got up before the encores (nudged ever so slightly by one Sandy from Ohio). I don't know what the capacity is or even if they keep track. But if it gets crowded enough, we can ditch the tables and occupy the moat (the 15 foot space between stage and tables)... - Chad ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 15 Oct 1998 11:28:49 -0400 From: Nate DeRose Subject: Re: Fall... Does anybody know how far Burlington is from Ottawa (or Montréal, I can do the math - I think)? how much the tix are for the 11/1 show? Any good, CHEAP place to crash there? any Vermont FruMaison? :) Also, who is thinking of going? We still have a Governor General, and Lieutenant Governors who represent the Queen and have to endorse all bills before they become law.
