Mine requires a little bragging on myself, so I apologize for that. As background, I'm the guy my friends and co-workers come to with questions about music, because I can usually answer them (my collection is about 5,000 albums, and I sadly have no life outside of music). So I say: "Imagine the Beatles crossed with Firesign Theater put into four guys, each of whom knows more about pop music than I do." I say 'Beatles' because they're the best songwriters and singers ever. I say 'Firesign Theater' because of intelligence that makes you laugh AND think. It may not be a great description, but it sure makes people interested in hearing the lads. - --tc - -- "Trying is the first step to failure." -- Homer Simpson ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 13 Oct 1998 22:41:37 -0400 From: Thomas Fazzio Subject: Re: At Long Last, Wood and the "b" album In Stores of the USA yeah, if you happen to come across old sound equipment around the house or at a garage sale, take a look at the manual (if it is still in tact). The old Fisher system of my Dad's raves (circa early 1960's) about the new "stereophonic" broadcast, meaning more natural sounds instead of a single sound (mono). Gee, and to think that stereo is such a common term today that we don't even call it a radio. Goes to show you what technology can do over time. later, tom. Finally, I am able to complete my collection without traveling to Canada (not that it isn't lovely, my car is just not fond of long journeys). This is beautiful. I even bought another copy of Live Noise so I could lend one out (isn't that weird? The other half of the reason is that my CD player wouldn't play tracks 2-7. No explanation.) To all who are hesitating, RUN (don't walk) to your local record store. Fer chrissake! As Kevin pointed out, they're cheaper than a Las Vegas whore (or something like that). And they are good'uns. Does anyone know if there is much of a difference in the J-cards? I know that my copy of BNL's Gordon is a reprint, and the J-Card was entirely redone (grumble grumble). Hopefully the same thing did not happen to Fruvous? Heather Moore On 13 Oct 1998 14:26:44 GMT blinerecs@aol.com (BLineRecs) writes: >In glorious stereophonic sound! It's better than mine: the person: "Moxy Fruvous, what's that?" me: "They're this really great canadian group...." the person: "what kind of stuff do they play?" me: "well, it's kinda like..... ummm.... well, it's.... ummm....... it's hard to describe...
