As a friend of mine put it "Toledo is... " ;) Why am I compelled to dis Ohio tonight? I'm usually the first to defend it... It's actually a very nice place, with several great cities, including Columbus, where I hope to see some of you Thursday. :) (I knew I could work some frucontent into this!) I still haven't gotten my Quill yet. :( It's because I live close to Washington and they are punishing us because of the "Story That Just Will Not Die" isn't it? I'm just an innocent civilian caught in the Crossfire. (But not the one on CNN.) Hopefully my very own Quill will arrive soon. > Could my day be any more Frülicious? There were two of them, but one closed down a few years ago I believe. But then there's really little else to do there unless you like glassware or driving across bridges. Oh, and they have those weird trashcans, but I see little tourist value in that. ;) 20 minutes from Zanesville, Lace º¤ºº¤º¤ºº¤º¤ºº¤º¤ºº¤º¤ºº¤º¤ºº¤º¤ºº¤º¤ºº¤º¤ºº¤º¤º ¤ nthrbns at netpluscom.com ¤ ICQ 218859 ¤ http://i.am/papillonline ¤ "so I went and had my coffee alone but I don't want to sulk cause that's so alternative and alternative is so mainstream"-JBE º¤ºº¤º¤ºº¤º¤ºº¤º¤ºº¤º¤ºº¤º¤ºº¤º¤ºº¤º¤ºº¤º¤ºº¤º¤º ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 13 Oct 1998 09:46:30 -0400 From: Jun Nogami Subject: Re: chicago show Yes, I'm talking about that first show. I also remember that most people were from out of town. Myself and the two or three people I managed to drag along with me were about half of the people from Wisconsin. Hearing more or less all of YWGTTM live, shortly after the CD was released, never expecting to hear "Gord's Gold" live, and of course that final off mike Gulf War song.... I think that we all really hope that Moxy makes it big; they are so talented that they just have to. BNL seems to be on their way, ironically on the strength of a not very good album. Your parallel between BNL and MF is apt: I think that they also suffered from being pigeon holed as a "novelty" act, and people reacted negatively to their second album. The friends I've talked to in Canada said that Wood killed a lot of Moxy's following, and I must admit that the first time I heard Wood (actually at Martyr's), I didn't like it much, since at that point I had only heard Bargainville.
