Actually, this is not entirely true. I've had work done on my car twice and I've gotten a rental car (for free no less!) without any questions asked. I guess that might not be the best example, but I am under 25. Also, a friend of mine was coming in from Toronto (he is also under 25) so I was calling the car rental businesses to find out what prices would be while he was in town. Some were outrageously expensive adding on big fees for being under 25. Some didn't charge anything and had no policy towards under-25-year-olds. I think I called Enterprise Rent-a-Car and they didn't charge anything. Or was that Budget? All I know is that most of the time Budget is very inexpensive. So I'd suggest calling around, especially if you are over 18 or 21 but under 25. - -Matt - -- - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Matt James Voice: (301) 231-9898 x. 121 TYC Associates email: mjames@tyc.com Rockville, MD alternate: mattj@charm.net http://www.tyc.com - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 14 Oct 1998 18:21:42 GMT From: Loren Becker Subject: Fall... Mm-mmm! i didn't mean to imply that rain wasn't like fall. it's just that to me this was not fall rain. it was too light and brief to be a good fall rain. and there was certainly no smell of smoke and no pretty leaves. of course, it's been a while since i had a fall since i was in nicaragua last autumn and somehow 95 degrees and rainy does not imply fall to me. apologies for the lack of frucontent... loren. ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 14 Oct 1998 14:16:45 -0400 From: Thomas Fazzio Subject: Re: Posting lyrics of unfinished songs When I first heard "I Will Hold On" at Media Play on July 10 in Niagra Falls, I was extremely impressed with the entire song. The music was well thought, the lyrics were so true, and the feeling was completely from the heart. It instantly became the most memorable combination of sight and sound for me; I still remember looking at how Jian's voice floated from the speakers with such warmness. Reading the lyrics posted here on the newsgroup only brought back that great memory for me; in no way would reading the words of that song compare to the song that I heard that Friday night. To me, making up my mind about a song based on the lyrics posted here would be more close-minded than most anything I've ever known. It is not until you experience something for yourself that you truely know what the situation is and how you react to it. Whether posting the lyrics of an 'unfinished', unreleased song for others to read should be accepted, I don't care to take a side on the issue. But on the feeling for a song even after reading the lyrics, I know that hearing in concert make a world of difference. For example, posted on FDC for probably a number of years are the lyrics to "The Ballad of Marion Früvous" and "Today's The Day We Fight Back". I had read these lyrics numerous times during the last year, and I tried to get a feel for the song. When I heard both songs while seated under the canopy at the Ottawa Folk Fest on Aug 29, I found that these two songs are presented in such a way that whether I knew the lyrics, the message of the song was more than powerful. Basically, this is what I think: No comment on the morality of posting lyrics to unpublished songs for those to read who have not heard the song; reading lyrics to a song I have not heard does not aloow me to make up my mind about the song as hearing it live brings more to the song than mere lyrics. later, tom. ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #790 ********************************************
