The old Fisher system of my Dad's raves (circa early 1960's) about the new "stereophonic" broadcast, meaning more natural sounds instead of a single sound (mono). Gee, and to think that stereo is such a common term today that we don't even call it a radio. Goes to show you what technology can do over time. later, tom. I still haven't gotten my Quill yet. :( It's because I live close to Washington and they are punishing us because of the "Story That Just Will Not Die" isn't it? I'm just an innocent civilian caught in the Crossfire. (But not the one on CNN.) Hopefully my very own Quill will arrive soon. > Could my day be any more Frülicious? [you see, it doesn't matter whether you're deadhead, fruhead, phishhead, or whatever... it's always the same. it's like we share a secret, an inside joke that no one else gets. going to a show is just a way for a bunch of us to get together and laugh about it.] the second thing was picking up a certified letter at the post office, containing six lovely tickets to the upcoming frufiesta in DE. thanks, june! *joy* peace, ellen - -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 14 Oct 1998 00:03:25 -0400 From: Nate DeRose Subject: Re: any suggestions McCown wrote: > > >"Imagine the Beatles crossed with Firesign Theater put into four guys, > > >each of whom knows more about pop music than I do." > > > > > >I say 'Beatles' because they're the best songwriters and singers ever. It's better than mine: the person: "Moxy Fruvous, what's that?" me: "They're this really great canadian group...." the person: "what kind of stuff do they play?" me: "well, it's kinda like..... ummm.... well, it's.... ummm....... it's hard to describe... I'll play some for you sometime!" hehehehheheh > Yeah, I like this too, except if I say "Firesign Theater" to most people > my age, they'll probably give me the same look that they do when I say > "Moxy Fruvous." Actually, I never thought to compare the two, but I can > see it... Hehehe.... yeah, it's really too bad that Firesign isn't more well known. They're EASILY my favorite comedy troupe. :) nate ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #787 ********************************************
