I talked to Nerissa and it looks like they might be back around February... I of course tried to persuade them that Champaign would be good to them :-) And I think she sold me the display copy of Abigail, too, so I'm Nields-deprived :-(. Clear plastic CDs don't sound particularly good. >> (7)*Three* encores! Maybe they will do this again in the future, too! Yeah, except I noticed that nobody mentioned the fact that the Fruvous Dave played accordian on "Last Kisses", so at one point there were four Daves on stage :-) Most excellent, though I think Nerissa should get used to being put on the spot for making something up (like when they gave away the chess set). Was the Nields concert not webcast? But as for ISBR, it's sort of a shame that they couldn't end with that one... they attempted to in KoP as well but Frufans just won't stop clapping until they know there's no chance of another song :-) I can't complain after hearing my two favorite bands play together, but maybe The Nields should learn The Drinking Song so they can end together next time ;-) - -Kumar, tired but very happy - -- (Until a sig randomizer is installed, this space is free for organizations promoting the use of elk secretions in perfumes - call 217-ELK-ODOR for info) Ravikumar Venkateswar rvenkate@uiuc.edu http://www.uiuc.edu/ph/www/rvenkate ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 11 Oct 1998 15:21:16 GMT From: jkpolk@ntplx.net (Andrea Krause) Subject: Re: Irving Plaza On 10 Oct 1998 15:53:29 GMT, mjgreenb@aol.com (Mjgreenb) wrote: > >Who on here will be at the Nov 10th show at Irving Plaza. ? > > >Mike >mjgreenb@aol.com Paul (Beasi) and I will be going...(unfortunately this means I'll probably have to drive down to Bridgeport to meet him...EEEK!) Producers and researchers start looking to fill airtime about one month prior to air date for big acts and about two weeks in advance for "filler" (not that I am implying that Fruvous and caulk, grout or mortar have anything in common). The email addresses for these shows are on FDC. Please make sure you write and tell them how great the band is...about their broad range of appeal...and that they are *in New York* on these dates. Also direct them as to how they can find them...www.fruvous.com, and JAM's email and phone number. Lets bombard them for a week or two. One email from each and every Fruhead that reads this could make a world of difference... - -- Mi in Mississauga - -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 11 Oct 1998 10:53:15 -0600 From: "Bridget" Subject: that new york winter weather..... hey all you friendly folks....... i am planning a trip from denver to new york in december to catch the shows in ithaca & clinton. i am wavering between going greyhound & driving. can someone from that area let me know what i may be able to expect weather-wise in early december? if it's bad, i'd rather let someone else do the driving........ please help!! also, i'll again ask if there's anyone from colorado interested in going. jordan, i'd love it if you & buds could go. i'd volunteer my car in exchange for help with gas $$$$$$, and for a trip that lengthy, i can fit 4 comfortably. another request - i'll be looking for a cheap place to crash that week. if anyone knows of cheap (but safe, please......) motels, i'd be most grateful. if i end up making the trek by myself, are there any fruheads out there who'll volunteer to socialize with me.......? boy does that ever sound desperate....... :-) over 'n' out xoxoxo bridget ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #771 ********************************************
