Oh, you really shouldn't have even mentioned the mandolin - if you're serious, your "Grand Tour" may not make it out of Rochester without us making you play for your supper! Umm, well, yes, that is the definition of a pan in a film. But when an entire movie is 'panned', it usually refers to the negative way that critics respond to it. "Even though The Lost World was almost universally panned, it was still the top grossing movie of 1997." While I can't recall it's derrivation right now, a critic's pan has a different origin than a cinematographer's pan. - --Rodney (Oops! HEY! Yeah, we got a little silly with this thread, but it's a long stretch between stating that someone's attractive, or even being a little dumbfounded in their presence, and possibly having a "groupie/slut" mentality. (disclaimer aside.) Being "out of our league" is irrelevant. I don't think any of us were talking about that. (I know I wasn't, and Katrin seems more interested in her husband.) I think the tongue-tiedness has more to do with feeling on-the- spot, not knowing quite what to say, and not wanting to sound like an idiot when you finally open your mouth. And who hasn't experienced that shyness when meeting people who are more-or-less strangers? -- especially when you think from watching them that they're pretty cool, and would like them to perceive you as not a *complete* dork. Which is a feeling I associate more with a much earlier period in my life -- not because I'm really cool and self-possessed now, but because I'm less frequently in one of those performance-anxiety-inducing situations. But when I am, the sensation just comes rushing back, and I think "oh, God, I haven't outgrown this *yet*?" before I realize that it's one of those things you really don't outgrow. You just put up better defenses most of the time, so you find yourself much more surprised when something slips through. That ends this morning's psychology lecture. We now return you to your regularly scheduled ng. - -- Lori (Smoothing ruffled feathers, acknowledging that yes indeed, she is a dork. But she's harmless. Again? Josh did that in his "spare time". I don't know if he's had the spare time since then to keep it up. It may have just been a one-off things for the YNB Tour, just out of curiosity. You may want to get in contact with Josh and see if he made some magic programs that can take in a set of set lists and output the data. Yes indeedy! PTT is a song about an elf and the things that elves do, which just happenst to be cleverly peppered with enough double-entendre to make many less clever people think that it is about... um... something else entirely.
