Wow, I leave for a day or so, and already this newsgroup is full of new stuff I haven't read yet. I am feeling *really* overwhelmed right now...I'll probably have time to get caught up in a few days. I know I have to get a hold of quite of a few people regarding tape dubs-all I can say is that I haven't forgotten about it, I'll get back to you by the end of the week. I need information about the Irving Plaza shows on Nov 10 and 11. I know 10th...Moxy are probably opening for VF...But what about the 11? VF are scheduled to play in Florida on the 11th...so would this be a full Moxy show? This is kind of a problem cause I DO have school and its very hard to see these shows...especially 2 of them that I just cant miss. At Clifton's pizza and bar in Louisville, they made up special menus for the Frushow, and were offering the Johnny Saucep'n special, with some of all those ingredients, all listed out, for a grand total of about $275. I was wondering what they would do if someone actually ordered it and presented the money! They had other specials, too, like green eggs and ham, and chocolate eclairs. It was very witty, and a cute touch! - -Zard "www.washme.com" - seen on the back window of a filthy station wagon, heading to Owen Sound, ON ------------------------------ Date: 1 Oct 1998 04:11:48 GMT From: zardsnod@aol.com (ZardSnod) Subject: Re: Recipe book? >to a recipe book/webpage, say aye. I'd rather have a printed, bound (sorta tied together somehow, not officially bound) version, even if there is an HTML version, too. Easier to keep on the counter than the computer... Well, lots of people tape, but I'd suggest asking the band (or Tobey or Cal) for permission, in order for the tapers to stay in the good graces of the band. You never know - there have been shows where they've felt really off, or they wanted to not have the pressures of the tapers, that they've requested either folks not to tape, or not to distribute that particular show. I'm sure some folks will still tape, but I'd suggest that the best way to go is getting permission first. It's probably the best way to ensure that it will be tolerated for a long time. - -Zard "www.washme.com" - seen on the back window of a filthy station wagon, heading to Owen Sound, ON ------------------------------ Date: 1 Oct 1998 04:58:08 GMT From: jenncyn@aol.com (JennCyn) Subject: Re: A couple of questions > Cee, BELIEVE me, I understand the feeling. (long-winded) It was my first Frushow and my first time at Slim's. The performance was great. They're as much fun to listen to between songs as Barenaked Ladies. One major downside was the pair of Guys Who Would Not Shut Up. I had to ask twice before I could listen to the music without the running commentary (or maybe ruining commentary). It was nice to be able to associate faces with voices for the first time, and in some cases surprising. In order to ensure that they return, I hereby am starting the letter- writing campaign requested by the Fru-four. I urge the rest of you to follow suit. Dear Television Executives, A rogue group of four talented musicians are have threatened to not return to the fair city of San Francisco unless a certain demand is met. Normally, I would not deign to submit to extortion, but in this case I think it is worth the small price exacted. In order to guarantee their swift return to this city, please put "Barbary Coast", starring William Shatner, back on the air.
