If they happen to play 'Save This House' or 'Home For a Rest'... please do some extra dancing for me *g* (my two favourite SOTW songs :>) Drea Caffeine and Fruvous: the accounting student's keys to sanity... - -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/rg_mkgrp.xp Create Your Own Free Member Forum ------------------------------ Date: 26 Sep 1998 02:25:10 GMT From: zardsnod@aol.com (ZardSnod) Subject: Re: Live Noise Ross Dickinson wrote: >I'm a relatively new fan(ok like 2 weeks or so) and I jus tbought "You >Will Go To The Moon". (does anyone else think that Nancy should perhaps be recommending "Wood"?! ;-) The reasoning behing getting Live Noise first: Fruvous is first and foremost a live band. Despite the marvelous complexities and clarity of sound they're able to get from the studio mixes, I still think that the whole Fruvous magic comes together best during a live show. They feed off the audience and give back, which evolves into a whole new being, and there's a taste of that on Live Noise. To me, the live show is what makes Fruvous so incredibly unique (I mean beyond actually having a wide variety of musical styles, and intelligent, witty lyrics), thus they are best represented by the live album. Other bands' live albums are something that I think are best left to those who know them well, and who just want to hear the songs performed slightly differently, whereas sometimes the studio version of a Frusong ends up not even being the definitive version (witness Boo Time). (notable exceptions are EFO's Portable EFO show, and Arrogant Worms' Live Bait, along w/Live Noise) So, try it, you'll like it! And then you'll want to drive up to SF for the show!! - -Zard "www.washme.com" - seen on the back window of a filthy station wagon, heading to Owen Sound, ON ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #670 ********************************************
