I only liked them somewhat after I'd heard "Up" (their second CD), but LOVED them after hearing them live!! Enjoy, Amy!! Hear, hear!! I was going to say, of course, that that interviewer had no idea what he/she is talking about. No life?! Humph! We've got two lives! What does he/she do on his/her time off - watch tv, read trashy novels, etc?? On our time off we do exactly what Bill stated above, and I think that's plenty more life than most - just that alone. But, as others have stated for themselves, we've got pretty darned full lives already - most of us have jobs or school, other hobbies, get out and about, and just MAKE time for this where time may not actually exist, BECAUSE it's fun. I never, ever, thought that after leaving college I would be able to make so many friends, and meet so many great people, in so little time. So, let's just "pity da fool" and be glad for what we've got. It's too bad if it makes other people think twice before following the band around, but, frankly, I think if someone's so inclined, they'll do it anyways. Fruheads tend to be pretty free-thinkers, or else they wouldn't like Fruvous at all anyways. ;-) - -Zard "www.washme.com" - seen on the back window of a filthy station wagon, heading to Owen Sound, ON ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Sep 1998 13:50:59 GMT From: nafio@my-dejanews.com Subject: Re: San Francisco show? dalevy@aol.com (DALevy) wrote: >(Chelsea Clinton goes there, so Mike might need to be careful about his lines >in Minnie!) In the next instance, the bodyguards storm the stage and subdue him. Maybe lead him off stage and introduce him to some good Old American "justice". :) All the while this is happening, Murray and Jian spar about how this wasn't exactly what they meant by "audience involvement". Leading into a nice new improv while Mike aggrivates the bodyguards by suddenly forgetting english and only speaking french. That or, maybe I just have an overactive imagination. Forgive me, i'm ill. No. Sign up again if you can, sure, but _mark it as an address change_ on the sheet -- write it in the margin if you have to. It'll make things easier for everyone. My mother and I maintain a mailing list for a local band, and it's a constant process of comparing signup lists, updating, correcting, paring out duplicates, dumping bad addresses, deciphering signups from people with illegible handwriting and/or who don't bother to write their complete addresses, forcing us to spend a whole lotta time at the USPS Web site's Lookup pages to fill in the blanks, etc... not to mention all the time we spend at the post office, and in our case we design the postcards, stick on all the labels, and stamp everything if it's not bulk mail. It's not the easy process most people seem to assume it is! Just as a matter of courtesy, don't make mailing any more difficult or expensive than is absolutely necessary by doubling up your address -- duplicate mailings and printings cost the band more, of course, and paring out the extras takes time. Sorry for the rant. :) Nothing personal, of course. Just had to get that out of my system..... - - jenn, who's doing another major m-pact postcard mailing this weekend ;) ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Sep 1998 16:22:11 GMT From: nnicole1@my-dejanews.com Subject: Re: Yet another Frvous article In article <19980924082336.13636.00001094@ng-fc2.aol.com>, zardsnod@aol.com (ZardSnod) wrote: > Hear, hear!! My recent experiences: - -can't send out messages - -can't open messages or news posts (in this case and the case above, the computer gets stuck, for want of a better way of putting it) - -more "illegal operations" than usual - -messages have a spring in their step: bouncing quite often even though addresses have been correct Would these be Sympatico problems? (Perhaps I should have asked this first.) I am not the most computer-savvy woman in creation. Could anyone recommend other Internet companies with good deals on access?
