No one is going balistic, rather we are just doing what we always do: Discussing minutae ad infinitum. In actuality it is the people saying lighten-up that need to lighten up. :D A.J. - -- _____ _ / ____(_) | | _ ___ ___ _ __ ___ | | | |/ __/ _ \ '__/ _ \ | |____| | (_| __/ | | (_) | \_____|_|\___\___|_| \___/ @wwnet.com ICQ#: 13117113 ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 17 Sep 1998 14:52:35 -0500 From: Chad Maloney Subject: Re: Fruvous on UMFM Josh Drury wrote: > > Hey all! > I just heard Fruvous on CJUM (U of M's campus station), actually I was > able to get inside the station to see Fruvous being interviewed (though > separated by a pane of soundproof glass, of course). So, > according to Jian, at least, yes, that's his voice. I gotta learn to just shut up and not post every time I get the inkling. It would keep my life easier. I'm sorry I even started this. No, for the record, I didn't pay enough attention to Video Bargainville to know it was Jian singing. I have listened to it enough today and I know it is. I have also never tried to dig into the speaking section behind the music break. I knew it was about Cher and that's about it. The only reason I knew that much was for the crossword puzzle. The only reason I thought it wasn't Jian was because you can hear the spoken part AND Jian singing on the choruses and my head doesn't like two people in one place at once. I know it is just over dubbed, but I don't think of it that way when I'm listening to it. Anyways, a song with a rocking bass part like that, what are you all doing listening to the lyrics, huh? - Chad ------------------------------ Date: 17 Sep 1998 21:29:15 GMT From: starfox@Bacon.Eggs.And.NOSPAM.nationwide.net (Starfox) Subject: Re: A.J puts out a rant for no apparent reason. Yes, I'm emerging from the deepest depths of silence here in ammf. Where have I been? I forget. But that's not my point. My point is this-- There is a free show in Boston October 10 and 11, sponsored by Mix 98.5. So why do I post it here? Well... Here's the line-up (so far-- more to be added): Heather Nova, Edwin McCain, Bruce Hornsby, BARENAKED LADIES, and... ELVIS COSTELLO!!! Yes, Elvis Costello!!! So, I expect to see some of y'all there, you got it?! I mean, it's FREE!!!! This is the opportunity of a lifetime. Don't miss it. Fruvous Content: Last night, I went to the Five O'Clock Shadow CD release party. It was a great show. The opener was Sean Altman (or is it Shawn?), formerly of Rockapella. Anyway, during his set, he asks if there's any Moxy Fruvous fans out there. And there were. Which is good. But anyway. He played a song that he and Jian had written together and it was really quite good-- it was called... um... "This Town" or "Something-Or-Other Town..." I just know it had the word town in it. Anyway, it made me smile. Jian, if you're reading-- great song! Other Fruvous Content: They cover Poor Napoleon, Oliver's Army, Alison, and Murray sings Indoor Fireworks-- all by ELVIS COSTELLO!!! Actually, I was meaning to ask about some of the new songs I heard at their kick-ass West End Cultural Centre gig. They did four new songs: Sad Girl Pisco Bandito I Will Hold On And one other one which, for the life of me, I can't remember. Anyhoo, have they done any of these before, and for any other 'Peggers, what was that other new song?
