Wait - I thought we were going to wait until the Iron Horse shows to at least figure out exactly how many Chad's we're dealing with here. Moxy Fruvous should never have happened. *LOLOLOLOL* Wait... still laughing... Wow. An actual flame. Haven't seen one of these on here in a REALLY long time. Cult? I seriously doubt it. All of *us* have lives * aside* from Moxy Fruvous. - -Vika, still giggling - -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/rg_mkgrp.xp Create Your Own Free Member Forum ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 16 Sep 1998 14:01:05 GMT From: bchavez@rippe.com Subject: Re: Grunge was Re: A question for all... Exactly! I am very surprised that this is the first time I heard anyone else mention the U2 comparison before. It hit me the second time I heard it! The only thing I don't agree with is the "With or Without You" comparison. When that came out (Josuha Tree),U2 was original and not yet full of themselves. I think it is the lost group of today that MF is parodying. Dave gets the present day Bono down pat with the overwrought vocals and gimmicky phrasing, The guitar work mimics The Edge's distinctive styling - now quite a cliche, and it has the wall of sound of the Zoo TV days. Unfortunaly, since I used to be a big U2 fan in the 80's, the only group that can do a better parody of U2 is U2 themselves! Welcome to alt.music.moxy-fruvous. Here's the obligatory pointer to all things Fruvous at http://www.fruvous.com. You may want to check out the Tour Page, which is usually very up to date, to see where you might not want to accidentally be to see a show. Also, when new albums releases are made, FDC will report it, so you can watch out for not accidentally buying them. Here's your first warning: it looks like around October 13th you might have to not buy Wood and "b" in the United States. Good luck staving off the rampant consumerism that plagues the US. If you don't like it, buy it for all your enemies and torture them with the horrid melodies and great songs! That'll teach them! Also, since it seems you frequent Vancouver a lot, there's a Fruvous show there soon. Beware! - Chad ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 16 Sep 1998 09:33:33 -0500 From: Josh Drury Subject: Re: Grunge was Re: A question for all... bchavez@rippe.com wrote: > > Exactly! Just my opinion. Ah, well, to each his own, I suppose. That's ok Heather. As there seem to be quite a few more Americans on this newsgroup than Canadians, we already knew that. Of course SOME days I wonder if all the nice ones are Fruheads.
