I just LOVE Grunge of Spain - they're just so entirely taking the piss on all those hard rock anthem-y songs that it's just hilarious!! Plus I had some early Fruhead bonding in a car back from Sudbury, Feb. Now I *really* wish they were playing at Mekka. (With it's no doubt banter inducing decor.) HEY FOLKS! I'm a new user, and I just needed a way in which I could contact many Fruheads at once. I have a problem. Moxy Fruvous is playing at Richards on Richards, a very posh Vancouver, BC club at 8pm on Thursday, 24 September. I bought three tickets for myself and two fellow Fruvous-Fans to go and see the awesomeness for the first time (AUGH!). HOWEVER. I found out (too late) that one must be 19 in order to enter said establishment, and neither I nor my companions fit that criteria. Blast Canadian Drinking Ages! So, I'm SOL, stuck with three General Admission Tickets for a show which I cannot attend (not for lack of desire, 'cause baby, I was lookin forward to this one.). CAN ANYONE HELP ME? Does anyone out there need tickets? I've got 'em. I can hook you up. Ticketmaster has nothing on me! ; ) C'mon, please? You guys are my one and only hope - no one out here seems to know who MF is (damnit). Interesting setup. It's a movie theater (natch), but there are rows ripped out in front of the stage to form a dancing/standing/moshing area. There are still seats on the main floor, and there's also a "balcony" that will hold between 150 and 200 people. (While movies are showing, in the "dancing" area, they've set up a half-dozen or so couches, so people can lounge while watching the movie.) (In case anybody cares, the movies were "The Big Lebowski" and "The Truman Show." For $2. And a waitress comes in to take drink orders during the movie. Interesting.) (Will this post set a group record for parethetical clauses? I hope so.) I think this has the potential to be a fairly cool place to watch a show. A couple of other notes. A previous post indicated the show starts at 7 p.m. My guess is that's when the doors open. The concert isn't scheduled to start until 10 p.m., according to the posters at the club (which bill the band as "eclectic rock from Canada"). Also, if you're looking for parking, I'd advise against turning west. The club is on the east side of Goodwin, and that's where most of the decent (on-street) parking is. - --(tc) - -- "Trying is the first step to failure." -- Homer Simpson ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #616 ********************************************
