Anyone who hasn't heard this song, you should try and find a copy, because it
is hysterical.  I am also the child of folkies (I'm 16) and after I heard Arlo
Guthrie at Appel Farm a few years back my mom got out her old record and played
it for me.  I'm also a big fan of the "Motor-sickle Song" in which he mostly
sings stuff like "I, I don't wanna pickle, I just wanna ride on my
motor-sickle, and I don't wanna die..I just wanna ride on my motorcy...cle" 
Arlo was actually at Philly this year and sang some of it, but then said "I
always try and pass this song of as a cover, you  know, say somebody else wrote
i besides me, but no one wants to take credit for it."

Or you can try phoenetic scrabble. That's my favorite variation. That's
where you can put down whatever letters you want and it is valid
as long as you can convince the other people playing that you can
pronounce it like a real word. 

Things like:
kwikli (quickly)
prablim (problem)
noc (knock)
uth (youth)

And of course it gets as wild as you can imagine once people get
the hang of things and realize the potential of the X.

You know, this is my second post about scrabble on the ng in
two entirely different threads. Weird.

And if half of those people are Rosemary's kids, that ups the entertainment
factor another notch :-) Eugene's giggle alone made the song one of my

Yeah... I don't think we'll get to hear that extended reggae version of KoS
again, but it was really cool.

Imagine... the Luxor show was my cousin's *first* früvous show... She is sooo
lucky!

I think so.. (been awhile, 4 yrs if I look at the second hand..). I don't
know what it was but they were not all that good.  They played something that
my friend Jim and I dubbed "ode to the fish" and most of their stuff sounded
amazingly similar.  But then again, I was kind of distracted by the high
number of people that would shift crowd positions infront of us (seems to
happen a lot in outdoor venues).
