No, it's not there yet. Here's what I know: - -location: Nathan Philips (2 l's?) Square (downtown T.O.) - -everything starts at 10:30 (according to the United Way infoline (416) 761-STEP - -Moxy Fruvous on at 11:50am (per Jude's post) - -walk (4km) starts at 1pm (per infoline) I'm definitely going to be there. Look for a bespectacled brunette in a gray MF T-shirt and a black beanie. The unfortunate thing is that I won't have much in the way of donations because I only found out this week. (I guess my real United Way collecting will have to be for the CN Tower stair climb. Now, *that's* going to hurt.) It's a Best Of with tunes from Up and Play almost I saw a video on tv today for "Lukey" which is from "Up", but the titles at the beginning said that it was from an album called "Fire in the Hole" or something along those lines. I had assumed this was the american release, but now that you mention Rant & Roar, I realize I was wrong. So what was up with the video title? : that I know of, a self-titled, Up, and Play. I recommend Up as the my : favorite. It has my favorite GBS song on it (and that song is missing : from Rant & Roar). And that song would be? And yes, Up is the best album amongst the fans I know. I wish I loved my job as much as they love theirs. What's your favorite song by Fruvous Gulf War Song - a favorite from the start. Close second to Greatest Man in America. Who's your favorite non-Fruvous band or artist Bruce Cockburn Whom would you most like to see open for Fruvous The Nields or Tory Cassis Whom would you like to see Fruvous open for Bruce Cockburn - not likely as their styles couldn't be more different, but I'd love to see it anyway. They did play on the same day at the Newport Folk Festival a couple years ago. What's one thing you DON'T LIKE about Fruvous King of Spain - I love GOS, but KOS has always rubbed me the wrong way What's the greatest thing about this newsgroup Fun, friendly people and lots of witty banter ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 10 Sep 1998 14:34:49 -0400 From: David Bailey Subject: Theft!....... was ......... Maybe they're releasing the US greatest hits album under >this name in Canada. That's what I figured when I saw it. ::Running to my CD rack for "Fire in the Kitchen" to make sure I give y'all the right info:: Okay. "Fire in the Kitchen" is a compilation album recorded by the Chieftains, with a variety of maritime Canadian artists. In addition to Great Big Sea, it features Leahy, The Rankins, Ashley MacIsaac, Natalie MacMaster, The Barra MacNeils, La Bottine Souriante, and some others. It's put out by BMG, and I bought my copy at good ol' HMV. It's... okay. I like it, but I don't love it. A few of the cuts are great, and a few I put on "skip" whenever I play the darn thing. Eh, life's a crap shoot, huh? Why should your music be any different? ******************************************************************** Sharon samoq@aol.com "Know thyself?
