That's my favorite variation. That's where you can put down whatever letters you want and it is valid as long as you can convince the other people playing that you can pronounce it like a real word. Things like: kwikli (quickly) prablim (problem) noc (knock) uth (youth) And of course it gets as wild as you can imagine once people get the hang of things and realize the potential of the X. You know, this is my second post about scrabble on the ng in two entirely different threads. I may be repeating myself, but I'd advise to buy them in the order in which they came out. So throw yourself on Bargainville! (been awhile, 4 yrs if I look at the second hand..). I don't know what it was but they were not all that good. They played something that my friend Jim and I dubbed "ode to the fish" and most of their stuff sounded amazingly similar. But then again, I was kind of distracted by the high number of people that would shift crowd positions infront of us (seems to happen a lot in outdoor venues). My first reaction is YAY! A SHOW IN BALTIMORE! My next reaction was. Ack! It's at The Vault! I've been to the vault. It's an old bank with a few couches and a table set up in the corner to act as "the bar". Mostly really crappy bands that can't get a gig anywhere else play here. Perhaps the place will be okay if it's full of fruheads but I can't guarantee (? - i could never spell that word...) that will be so. I'm sure there is a better place in Baltimore for Moxy Fruvous to play. My house would even be better, in my opinion. And I'm not just saying that b/c I'd like Fruvous to play my house. I'm saying it because, frankly, I think the Vault sucks, and I think the band will be disappointed with it.
