I guess it would be because the have many differeny styles of music, they can play and all of the have talent...something that is lacking in many popular bands these days. I first got into Fruvous because a friend I had met in school said they played the best live show he's ever been to. I decided to buy bargainville, and have been a Fruhead since. > what's your favorite song by Fruvous I don't thinkI could pick one, but Fly, The Drinking Song, King of Spain, Nuits de reve are definitely up there.... > Who's your favorite non-Fruvous band or artist Tori Amos -she's definitely great, with an excellent voice and incredible songs. I saw that, too, but I think it was "Fire in the Kitchen"... anyway, I'm as clueless as you are. Maybe they're releasing the US greatest hits album under this name in Canada. That's what I figured when I saw it. hKath, who has joined the ennemy by putting her 2 cents in about GBS - -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/rg_mkgrp.xp Create Your Own Free Member Forum ------------------------------ Date: Sat, 12 Sep 1998 03:12:21 GMT From: Bonnie Conrad Subject: RE: A question for all So, Fruheads, the money question one more time: WHY ARE YOU A FRUHEAD?I The first time I saw them, what struck me was how much fun they were having. I wish I loved my job as much as they love theirs. What's your favorite song by Fruvous Gulf War Song - a favorite from the start. Close second to Greatest Man in America. Who's your favorite non-Fruvous band or artist Bruce Cockburn Whom would you most like to see open for Fruvous The Nields or Tory Cassis Whom would you like to see Fruvous open for Bruce Cockburn - not likely as their styles couldn't be more different, but I'd love to see it anyway. They did play on the same day at the Newport Folk Festival a couple years ago. What's one thing you DON'T LIKE about Fruvous King of Spain - I love GOS, but KOS has always rubbed me the wrong way What's the greatest thing about this newsgroup Fun, friendly people and lots of witty banter ------------------------------ Date: Fri, 11 Sep 1998 03:08:01 GMT From: "Robert G. Hi Kym, welcome to the group! There's a cooler in the back; help yourself. :) For starters, I'd recommend either their first album, _Bargainville_, or their latest, _Live Noise_. Live Noise is a live album, and a pretty good representation of a Fruvous show. Bargainville is a polished studio recording. Either should give you a better idea what Fruvous is all about. Have fun! - --nicole the wonder nerd who went to a *very* good TMBG show last night and is stoked... they played "She's An Angel"! "Hello sir, we are taking a survey on the use of water in your home. It is one of the most fundamental elements that we make use of on an every day basis. Costs are increasing and we would like to know your opinion on some things. Do you have a moment?" "Yes, I use water. I bathe in it every day. *click*" that sorta thing. and a sister who always leaves a drop of milk in the jug ... or the jerk at the airport who dropped my suitcase with a computer in it, etc. and i love their singing in it. i think that's the song that got me BACK into them after a while of being mostly unaware of what was happening (being in the states on the west coast sucks sometimes d: ) intolerable? hmm.
