One that I've been a fan of for maybe a year now, is a local band from Rochester called "11 Foot 7." They're named after the height requirement on a bridge upon entering a village near me, and I like them! :) They seem quite promising, and they do a lot of chordal harmonies. :) - -- pam Live life for today before tomorrow is gone... ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 9 Sep 1998 00:11:38 EDT From: Srm9988n@aol.com Subject: Re: Canadian cuisine? But no, nothing like our own breakfast delicacy. And I never encountered poutine for breakfast anyway (I guess I'm just not that depraved.) A 2 a.m. snack in Montreal, yes. A comfort food, yes. But not breakfast. Poutine is, basically, french fries topped with something called curd cheese which is a taste and textural cross between cheddar and (American style) mozzarella. Add a salty, mystery-meat gravy. The fries and gravy sort of melt the cheese, requiring that the dish be consumed with a fork. Yeah, it's really heavy, really salty, really bad for you. Yumm. (By the way, I hated it the first time I had it. But I hated beer the first time I had it too.) (Speaking of beer, I always thought a cold Molson or Labatt Copper was the proper poutine accompaniment, not Tim's coffee. Tim's coffee goes with ... Timbits!) - --- Lori ------------------------------ End of alt.music.moxy-fruvous digest V1 #428 ********************************************
