Martyr's is south and west of the Riviera, but both are within a few miles of each other on the North Side. I don't recall the exact address, but I believe Martyr's is in the 3800 block of N. Lincoln. Easiest directions to get there: from the Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94) take the Addison exit east. Drive several miles east on Addison. Take a hard left turn after going under the railroad tracks onto N. Lincoln. Martyrs will be about 2 1/2 blocks northbound, on the right hand side. I don't know if the show will sell out ahead of time, but will probably fill up and have to cut people off the night of the show. I would definitely buy tickets ahead of time. Anyone who experienced either of the Thanksgiving shows at Schubas last year will attest to this. Even Moxy's last show at Martyr's was pretty packed, and we all know how their fan base is growing. Hope the directions and ticket buying advice helps. Sorry I can't provide sleeping accomodations to the FruHeads this time (unless you want to stay at my new place, only 1,000 miles away) Shawn - -former Fruhead from Chicago - -now Florida Fruvin' ------------------------------ Date: Mon, 7 Sep 1998 23:21:48 -0700 From: Caitlin Subject: Canadian Cuisine? *giggle* Poutine rules! Hi Kat - I'm pretty sure I saw you waiting in line at RIpley's before the last Fru show here in Cinti... The Cincinnati show is actually in Northern KY on the campus of NKU. It is a benefit for WNKU, which is the only station in town that regularly plays Fruvous. They are pushing the show like crazy so I would get my tickets early. They go on sale Tues, 9/8 for 10 and 15 dollars. Seating is NOT reserved, I believe the price difference is for floor or balcony. This is an theater, not a bar so there will be no age restrictions, great acoustics and soft plushy seats. The last is a real problem since I don't know how I (as most fru fans) can sit through a show. Maybe other folks can tell us what it's like at such venues. If you're not familiar with WNKU and don't live too far north of the city, you should check them out. They are 89.7 on the dial. Live Noise has been in their top 25 ever since it came out. I have heard MBLABOA, Message, Fly, Horseshoes, Raja, Jockey, and *both* versions of KoS multiple times. Good Labour Day ;) Truth is, even if it wasn't a real Canadian holiday, Canadians would probably take the day off anyway, because hey, the Americans are doing it... ;) hKatherine - -- "Arlo, if you can't be great, be long." -- Arlo quoting Woody, OFF98 - -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/rg_mkgrp.xp Create Your Own Free Member Forum ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 08 Sep 1998 12:49:18 GMT From: hKatherine@ehmail.com Subject: Re: Canadian Cuisine? Granted, it IS horribly fat and disgusting-looking and everything that food shouldn't be, except for goddamn GOOD. Right Chris? Lisa?... Someone?
