Labor day is a US holiday. It has no European historical antecedant that I know of. Why would Canada necessarily have Labor day (and why necessarily on the same day? Your Thanksgiving is totally different after all.) I don't think Mexico has Labor Day. Canada certainly doesn't have Presidents Day, or Martin Luthor King day, and we don't have Boxing day or the Queen's birthday or any of that. So why is it silly? I don't think that it implies that Canadians are somehow deprived to ask if there is a Canadian Labour day. Yeah, and don't forget that the Canadians don't even celebrate the Fourth of July on July 4 :P Err, maybe I should call it "Independence Day", but that wouldn't be as cool. Though one of my friends (a known airhead) attends college in NB, and got quoted in her yearbook as having said "Do Canadians celebrate Christmas?" Besides, don't bug me about asking dumb questions about Canadians. I know a bit more than the average American does....especially now that I've eaten that horrible French-Canadian cuisine labeled "poutine". - --Novac "The only substitute for good manners is fast reflexes." ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 6 Sep 1998 14:37:32 EDT From: Srm9988n@aol.com Subject: Re: Fw: F&F for C Vika wrote: > Fruheads of the world, unite! I checked the Harvey School website -- it's a tiny place, with @140 students -- so I was wondering what exactly was the deal. No concert info on the site yet though. Maybe I'll just break down and telephone. - --- lori ------------------------------ Date: 6 Sep 1998 18:22:18 GMT From: Gruneberg Veronica J <6vjg@qlink.queensu.ca> Subject: Re: Where have all the Fruheads gone?
