True, but many of the stores in the area (all different types) are following suit. Believe me...I had to get all these dumb commercials done that were about Labor Day blah blah blah. Do the Canuks have any type of holiday related to our Labor Day? Perhaps a holida called "LaboUr Day"? :) The best thing about Labor Day is that we don't. - --Novac "The only substitute for good manners is fast reflexes." ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 6 Sep 1998 00:25:10 -0400 From: "^kat^" Subject: upcoming concerts... hello, fellow frufans... just a quick question or two before utter exhaustion takes over (ahh, the joys of starting school once more... :P). can anyone tell me any information about the venues involved in the shows on the 15th and 17th of october? namely, Ludlow's in cincinnati and, uhh, someplace in Highland Heights, KY (maybe has "upstairs" in the name? i forgot to write it down, and i don't feel like firing up MSIE right now ;p)... actually, what i'd *really* like to know is if either is strictly 18+/21+, 'cause that would cause major trauma in my poor existence as a minor. i'd like to reach 300 frumiles, and to do so, i *must* attend these shows. i'm sure you all understand. :) anyway, any info would be appreciated (preferably by e-mail, since i'm never sure when i have the chance to check newsgroups anymore)... even stuff like where to park or whether the sound is better stage murray or stage dave at either place. :) thanks so much! still upset at having to miss TMBG in cinci on oct. 9th, ^kat^ "i could put a spare bulb in my hand and light up my yard" ------------------------------ Date: Sun, 6 Sep 1998 00:33:15 -0400 From: "^kat^" Subject: Re: hopefully not goodbye >>Aieee! WE all work , WE all have jobs so, we should all know a little more about labor history and labor day.. It is a little more than just the unofficial end to summer, in the states. Sorry about the rant, but it angers me that we never learned about our labor history. Please ! before your "barbeque" today take some time to find out more about labor i would recommend: reading Emma Goldman, reading about the Haymarket riots, watching Matewan or checking out: www.labourstart.org www.sunsite.berkeley.edu/Goldman www.igc.apc.org/laborquotes/index.html www.iww.org jude ------------------------------ Date: 6 Sep 1998 14:37:08 GMT From: joshw@bgnet.bgsu.edu (Josh Woodward) Subject: upcoming OH/KY/IN concerts: age restrictions ^kat^ (katkunz@erinet.com) wrote: : can anyone tell me any information about the venues involved in the shows on : the 15th and 17th of october? namely, Ludlow's in cincinnati and, uhh, : someplace in Highland Heights, KY (maybe has "upstairs" in the name? Ludlows (which is in Columbus, actually) is typically 18+. It's a bar, so at least it's not 21+. The good news is that I'm fairly sure the Cincy (aka Highland Heights) show will be all-ages. It's a benifit for a radio station, so I can't see how it would be restricted. Call ahead to make sure, though, especially if you have a drive. Also, for the curious, the Second Story show in Bloomington that's between these two shows will almost certainly be 21+. :-( Which is too bad because the venue itself is really great for a FruShow. : chance to check newsgroups anymore)... even stuff like where to park or I can tell you that there's a fair amount of on-street parking around Ludlows, and a lot right beside it if you don't get there early enough. : whether the sound is better stage murray or stage dave at either place. :) Stage Murray. You get da' growl over there. Hope to see you at some of these shows!
